So... Why did Shadow Kill Black Doom?

I had a thought - Black Doom was flexing that he had control over the entirety of the dimension and could shift anything to his will. He's basically Shadow's real father and they even get buddy buddy; Black Doom was even trying to mold him like a father.

Why didn't Shadow strike an agreement that if he can bring back those he lost like Maria and Robotnik that he would serve him for a limited time or something? He might've even settled for just being friends with him.

What do you mean they "get buddy buddy"? At no point did Shadow express anything but hatred toward Black Doom in the whole game haha... he wanted to stop him from the first minute of seeing him.

I don't think Black Doom ever detailed his full "plans" other than the usual "take over the world" sort of thing, so Shadow working with him in any capacity would make bringing back Maria pretty useless, as there'd be nothing for her to come back to...

Did you skip all the cut scenes? Black Doom was grooming Shadow to either be his ultimate warrior or his new body and Shadow's entire motivation was to honor Maria's wish to give everyone on Earth a chance to be happy.
Furthermore Rouge and Gerald explain that he can't change the past because it led him to be who he became how he's helped the world and gained friends.

...Are you insane? Black Doom was NOT "getting buddy buddy" with Shadow. He was ACTIVELY TRYING TO TAKE HIS BODY. Black Doom was only not trying to take his body immediately because he wanted Shadow to become the most powerful he could possibly be. At no point was Shadow even THINKING about being allies with Black Doom, and Black Doom is insanely evil and would kill humanity at least 5 times over if he could, there is nothing redeemable about him and the fact that you think he's any kind of good is insanity.

A mix of media at the time of shadow 05’s release offers a simpler explanation- shadow is so prideful, and finds sonic THAT annoying that asking is the option that requires MORE effort to him

Doubt doom was even killed, he seems to be ethereal and probably found another starfish to inhabit. His final boss form wasnt called "Final Doom" so no way they killed him off yet, too cool of a name to pass up. :P
