I mean the whole conceit of Shadow in the games is that he is somehow connected to Sonic in some way that has yet to really be delved into at any deep level with both having a special affinity with the chaos emeralds that isn't really shared with the other characters (except Silver, but Silver is future boy who will forever be relegated to extended cast). You've got this backstory where Gerald modeled him after the Hidden Palace mural which may or may not actually amount to much after they brought aliens into the picture, Shadow deciding at the end of SA2 that Sonic is the real ultimate life form while he's perhaps a flawed human's best attempt at imitation, and then... nothing. Except something involving Black Doom... who now has to in some round about way be related to Sonic since he *also* shares some kind of poorly explained affinity with the chaos emeralds which may or may not be the source of Shadow's affinity with the chaos emeralds. Why Shadow has the abilities he has is less the mystery at this point than why Sonic has those same abilities (IE why Sonic was part of some ancient Mayan-esque prophecy), but it's a story they just decided never to tell for whatever reason.

I can't really tell what you're trying to say because it seems like you're talking about the games and movies interchangeably. Like you said in the games its implied that Gerald found that mural in the hidden palace and based shadow off that and his ability to use the emeralds comes from Black Doom.

All of that doesn't matter for the movie since they're all aliens with super powers and Shadow came from a meteor so they can easily say Sonic and Shadow came from the same planet but do they really need to explain where their powers come from can't they just exist? The movies being different means they can probably do anything they want such as having Shadow being recruited or more likely captured by Black Doom to scout Earth for the master emerald or that the master emerald is attracting everyone to Earth.

Sonic going super isn't unique, Eggman went super first in the second movie and Shadow was likely just copying Sonic as the second movie basically said it could make anyone "super."

And that's not a big deal, but with him just outright being another alien rather than a creation of humans it has to be this totally different plot and they just didn't go into it at all and with the next movie presumably focusing on metal Sonic it seems unlikely we'll be getting into that in the next five years.

They want to do a lot of things with a Sonic cinematic universe and the success of the third movie pretty much just gave them all the resources they need, we're definitely getting a Shadow series probably where he figures out who he is.

Ehhhh, it's different. When Sonic and Shadow do it the master emerald breaks to reveal the chaos emeralds. Robotnik just kind of absorbed the master emerald instead. They've left it ambiguous and that's fine.

I saw Sonic The Hedgehog 3 twice. once not in 4D and the other was in 4D where the seats move and it feels a lot like your in it. I personally enjoyed it more than the other 2 to be honest but hey, that's just me. :-)

EDIT: I'm not going to spoil anything but usually each film has a secret cut-scene in the final movie credits. Instead of 1 cutscene, there's 2 this time. Watch it till the whole thing is finished whoever goes and sees this film. ;-)

That wasn't an issue to begin with since even tails said that the fake emerald was almost as good as the real one. the IDW comics even reestablished you can use chaos control with fake chaos emeralds. Shadow literally used a city worth of fake chaos emeralds to warp an entire city into space.

so you really never played sa2 huh?

you just need enough chaos energy to warp not chaos emeralds.

this is how shadow can chaos snap without a single chao emerald.
