please PLEASE let us have a playable Super Shadow

He's not likely to become super this game because it's at the same time as generations and sonic is also collecting the chaos emeralds at that moment

They care enough about continuity now because they literally hired a bunch of people to keep track of the lore which is why the moons back to being shattered in dark beginnings and shadow has the yellow chaos emerald the one he gives you in sonic generations.

That was shadow at the time, Shadow Generations is present day shadow sucked into the white space where time doesn't exist considering the Dark Beginnings animation is supposed to be a prequel leading into Shadow getting pulled like the Convergence animation for Frontiers. He'll likely already have an emerald on hand as he usually does and while I doubt it'll be "collect all 7 emeralds" because they're giving us doom powers for a reason plus Mephiles shows up as we could have another inhibiter rings removal but there could definitely be a "second" set of emeralds if they really wanted to do it unless the emeralds are some cosmic omnipresent universal power that can only manifest once across time and space in the even in the white space.

There has been continuity since Sonic CD and Sonic 2.
