How do I get the game to stop crashing on startup?

Any help with this problem would be appreciated because it is crashing on startup for me.

Same and I still dont get why, I uninstalled and reinstalled, tried a bunch of stuff but nothing works. I really hope there is a fix

Well it would be helpful if somebody could provide some crash logs or something. Usually windows at the very least will tell you if it's an access exception or something else.

The problem is that there is none, no crash message the game just closes

I don't even have windows anymore. Have you tried running it in a console prompt to check for output? I can't imagine they would have no crash logs of any kind.

Maybe I just missed it i'm awful with computers, how do you run it in a console prompt?

I will have to check when I get home. Even then I don't use windows anymore so I have to guess. It'd be nice if one of those who have it would state instead of talking only about content. Might work to open a command prompt window in the game's folder and type the game's name

It's far more than pointless but yeah it would be nice if somebody actually you know who actually has the product would defend it in a way that actually makes the game work for people instead of thinking that the only thing that matters is censorship? Sounds less to me like they're interested in actually being helpful or doing the game well and more like they're interested in winning an argument.

But I digress there has to be a way to run into console or there could be one of the folders there should be some crash logs somewhere I can't imagine Sega or any publishing company would release a game without having some way of getting feedback from the user's computer.

Think I might have found the problem but don't know how to fix it. Someone pointed out that if the game crashes after the autosave it is because it can't save, the game doesn't have the permission to write a new file. Btw my specs are not that great but I am above the minimum recommended, that's all I know, I'm godawful as far as computer knowledge goes even for specs

I managed to read the crashdump and the error stated is 0xc000001d ILLEGAL INSTRUCTION

I'm playing on steam deck running windows and have the same problem - this also happens with Sonic Frontiers

So I set both exe's to run as administrator and got sonic generations to run. Made it through both green hills, ran great. but the loader for shadow generations is still prone to crashing

so, i launched via sonic generations, returned to loader and got into shadow generations! bad news, the game crashed during the opening cutscene on maria's hopeful face :')
