Because the game is a cheap cash grab where they recycle existing assets and are wasting a level on movie DLC.

I wonder if there's no Shadow '05 level because they couldn't settle on the mechanics for it. We can probably assume that guns and bikes are off the table, there's no alignment system in Generations, and chaos control is more of a secondary mechanic in this game. That doesn't leave a whole lot to set it apart.

even if that's the case, spears easily replace guns since they function the same way (it's a projectile). the sonic heroes stage proves that you don't need to cater to old mechanics to make a stage functional (i.e. no required power/fly sections)

westopolis could've been act 1 and lethal highway act 2 (especially considering shadow more of a 'hero' in this game). it could've been so cool but naw radical highway **again** for whatever reason. like it'd make way more sense for the final stage to be either final haunt (final hero level) or last way (true final stage). it'd be like if the final level in sonic gen to be green hill smh it's honestly pretty disappointing

like, oh my god man imagine if during black doom's act 1 stage transitions was parts of past shadow the hedgehog stages??? it'd be so cool

Good point. Heroes mechanics are just as difficult to recreate, except GRINDGRINDGRIND which Rail Canyon managed to make a pretty good level out of.

We got this instead https://info.sonicretro.org/The_ARK_(Shadow_the_Hedgehog)

If we go by the names

Every level in this game uses a level name from a previous game.

The only game where there was a level called the ark was shadow 05.

yeah rail canyon was cool

bullet station could've been better tho, but i understand why it was handled the way it was

Instead we got a Sonic Frontiers map.

If that were the case, Space Colony ARK would be after Rail Canyon, right?
Every other level in Shadow Generations and Sonic Generations are in order of game release, so Space Colony ARK is clearly based on SA2. They literally just ditched Shadow the Hedgehog representation in favor of blatant advertising for Sonic Midtiers with Chaos Island.

well...the ARK is in the real world the first time you play it

it's at the start because he's checking out a signal he got from the ark that's still in the sky (which is from Doom spoilers i guess). then, after that, time eater comes out of nowhere and sends shadow into white space.

regarding chaos island, you could say it's there because it's relevant to the chaos emeralds, which in turn makes also somewhat relevant to the story(?) but you can also use the excuse of "well it's just timeline shenanigans bro!!!" it works but at the same time it's kind of a lame justification.

at least the level is p cool lol

This lie has been going around and its just cope. The official Sonic youtube channel released level comparisons.

The first level is based on "Final Chase" from Sonic Adventure 2. Calling it "Final Chase" would make no sense to first time players. Like I said, the game is a cash grab and despite the ONE MILLION SALES, I don't see Sega/Sonic Team adding a level from Shad05.

>Where is my Westopolis

1. Go to Radical Highway Act 2
2. Put Westopolis music over it

And there you have it.

Honestly? The bike would be cool. The Shadow mod for the original gens had the bike act as reskin for Sonic's snowboard in City Escape and that Rooftop Run challenge act and IMO it could work as one here.

Westopolis is frustratingly repetitive.

In fact I would rather see Sky Fleet or Glyphic Canyon.

A city level is a city level, we're getting another city level next month.
