Nope. Shadow Generations is running on Hedgehog Engine 2, whereas Sonic Generations uses Hedgehog Engine 1.

If i could get even Hedgehog engine 1 i'm sure my car would go alot faster. 2 might be a little too much power for me to be trusted with.

Bah. No UEVR. Not for me (unless there's a VR port).

Ok, i have to ask why you want VR in a sonic game...
DAN-di-WARhol 2 NOV 2024 a las 1:45
Why not? Why would you want this in 2d when 3d is available?

Go look at X Rebirth VR reviews for an answer to that.

EDIT: And to be clear, even that i think would be a better idea, but it should give you at least a hint on the issue.

X rebirth is a completely different game genre. Has 40% positive reviews for 2d. 60% for 3d.

What's your point?

Read the content of the reviews and ask yourself why that is. Honestly, if you're refusing to buy sonic because it lacks VR, you really, really need to engage that noggin.

@ Kohlrak: Check out Hl: Alyx reviews. Different genre again. But I think the point you're making (since X rebirth is a different genre) is that "VR games get bad reviews", but the example you gave doesn't prove that. The 2d version had worse reviews than the VR version.

Looking in file folder, Shadow Generations is using Unreal Engine tech in addition to the Hedgehog Engine 2. See the "licenses" folder.

I mean really the bad idea is seeing Sonic Generations in VR when it was initially made with the camera attached to the head. There are games put into vr such as Cyberpunk, Robocop, the recent Resident Evil games, I played both re7 and 8 in vr with those mods. There's issues of course but they function well enough. Something like sonic you gotta account for the camera placement, the high speeds and perfect platforming, same reason a game like Cyberhook would be a nightmare for VR.

@Kohlrak: Only read the first sentence. Reported & blocked. Oxygen thief.

@Bleppyboo: I take your point, but I see those as challenges, not insurmountable. I've played games in UEVR with similar camera angles and they have worked really well in 3d on a headset (though not with tmc).

Interesting. Anyone tried this with UEVR?

Saw this video and reminded me of the OP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0bz82coIEI
Does it look cool? Sure but is it worth the constant motion sickness? Probably not.
DAN-di-WARhol 16 NOV 2024 a las 23:34
Motion sickness only really affects people who are new to VR. First few months or so.
