Generations Part looks exactly the same as before
The footage from Generations looks just like the 2011 Steam version. Generations here is not even in the newer Hedgehog 2 engine that the Shadow levels and Frontiers are in so the Shadow levels will probably have to be launched in a game separate to Generations. What's the point of having Shadow be attached to Sonic Generations if they won't properly remaster the original levels to go along with the Shadow story? Seems like they just want to resell the same port of Generations.

Hopefully, I'm wrong and they just don't feel like they're ready to show us the remastered footage, but remember, this is coming out later this year. They should have at least had something to show for it.

I am not asking for them to recreate this game in the new engine, that would be a remake, not a remaster, but they could at least give some hint that this is not the same port of generations from before.

Good. That just means Sonic Generations still holds up graphically even today.

(And do you really want to see them try to make the game prettier after what happened with Colors?)

Which only further proves that the game did not need to be remastered, or if it did, it should've gotten even more graphical enhancements than we're currently seeing.

Absolutely!
If they're going to charge full price for a game you can currently buy for much cheaper, it should be expected that the graphics would be improved. Keeping it the same would not be good enough.

I have completely forgotten how steam quote system works (praying for the day these forums stop being so outdated) so I'm just going one by one, sorry.

For your comment on the game being the same meaning no rerelease is needed, I disagree. I think this rerelease could be really nice if we get a version of the game that actually runs well now. Do keep in mind near release this PC port was not great, and the only reason it's easier to run now is because computer technology has evolved enough to brute force past its issues (and even then it's still really finnicky with crashes and whatnot).
If only for the modding potential that a better built version of the game provides, I welcome a rerelease that performs better in general.

For improving the graphics, what is there to improve? Generations still holds up extremely well graphically, and I'd argue the stages still look better than Frontiers' cyberspace stages, so what else is there really improve besides going full on realism, which I shouldn't need to explain why that would be a weird choice.

Now if you make an argument about the pricing, I will go ahead and say I agree. I'm excited for this rerelease, but taking it all into account (main game relatively unchanged, with an assumingly much smaller side story) this game should not be any more than $40, or maybe even $30.

Exactly! But on a bit of a unrelated note, Unleashed also holds up extremly well too and deserves a remaster with cleaner visuals, higher FPS and more content but Sega has neglected it for centuries and still do and it's all because of the buffiling negative reception once again proving how gaming journalist cannot be trusted anymore and besides that, there's the VAing problem of some thinking the modern Sonic cast being not capable of grasping the emotion, character and charisma the 4kids team brought which is valid critisim but after Frontiers where they improved drasticly they are more than capable of getting close to that level of greatness they offered.

Alrighty asking what is there to improve is wholly unecessary when the shadow portion of the bundle looks, phenomenal. Tbh it makes the generations part look very dated and old . And its not like his portion is ultra realistic so they could of given the base game that treatment. Cause tbh unleashed looks better than generations.

You forgot the part where sega and sonic team lost the boos game code for that game so they can't replicate or remaster and they need to do a new game from zero so... is not that they don't want to do it...

Because the remaster is just a upgrade in graphics most remasters are bare bones. People need to stop conflating remaster with remake.

The reason the gen remaster is even a thing is because it's not on New gen systems yet. It's being sold towards newer gen system it just happens to be being bundled with a new game with it.

Which honestly is better then what most remasters do.

Dark souls remaster basically changed nothing. But was still 50$.

I'd rather have a new game with a remaster then just a remaster.

Also yes it will have separate launchers because they are two different games. Despite the false narrative clown farmers on here are pushing it's not a dlc.
It's a full game as all the footage has shown.

Source for this? I'm expecting it to be one game with two halves chosen at the main menu, making it two different launchers may complicate things.

true
They might have a set up main menu where you have two selections like how sonic adventure on steam has a initializer.

But I highly doubt they are all in one with the hedgehog engine differences.
