Final Chapter THAT bossfight advice
Hey guys I just recently arrived at the Loewe / Lorenz Boss fight, and he's been pretty much kicking my butt for the past half hour and I honestly cant see a way or strategy through it as it is now.
Under all the adds, clones and damage I just cant manage to stay alive long enough and my best try was getting the boss to 50% through dedicated S-all-aoe spamming. Is that the general direction to go for this fight?

I've been looking all over the google for advice on this fight but havent found much concrete info except praying to rngesus for a good AI pattern. General or specific advice would be cool!
For the record, I'm playing on Normal Mode with Estelle, Joshua, Agate and Tita @ level 87 as a team :o
Is it really necessary to grind up to level 90+ for this fight and are the following bosses afterwards easier or harder?

I went with Kloe and Zane when I fought him. He murdered everyone but Zane within a few turns, who then proceeded to solo Loewe with no issue whatsoever. My party was ~lvl 80 when I fought him. Basically, Zane is OP as all hell with True Distended and a bunch of earth quartz equipped.

Interesting, I'll grind up Zane a bit then and try him out!

The recommendation to get yourself to level 90+ isn't kidding. This fight is brutal even on normal at level 99 if your luck sucks.

A big thing to keep in mind, the clones do NOT vanish after he's defeated. So each one he makes, that's like the monsters that call allies. It's something else you have to defeat. So keeping that in mind, Loewe should be your first target because if you get overloaded by clones, it's game over.

I tend to get my characters to 200 CP beforre the battle begins. You have a recharging station nearby, take advantage of that. If you don't have some food to make to max out your CP, go battle some random monsters. Another important thing is to try and max out speed as much as possible and make sure you have protection from at least confusion and faint. Protection from freeze also can help here since his second S-Craft can freeze everyone it doesn't KO right off. Also have lots of healing items, as many celestial balms and tear all balms as possible. If you are running low on those, make some food that will do the job. And if anyone can't take 10k+ damage, boot them from the party and put in someone who can. You truly may want to consider replacing Tita with Kloe or Olivier.

I like to start off with a chain of S-Crafts targeted at Loewe himself. That takes care of a good chunk of his HP. Keep one character at a distance and have them attack random clones or the lion archiasms,Tita probably would be good here if you give her range quartz and the long barrel plus a grail locket. You just want to be sure at least one person is out of range of his S-Crafts because his second one can KO your entire party and if it doesn't, leave everyone frozen. In this battle it will be more handy to assign someone to be the item thrower because you may need to heal all but one character as quickly as possible. Having someone attack the other guys on the field does help because sometimes Loewe will waste a turn with a La Teara to heal them.

The other thing is to do your utmost to prevent him from being able to act on a crit round. If you get hit with his second S-Craft on a crit round, it's game over unless you are level 99 and have a really good party who is healed up. If needed, have someone start casting an art, if you can't get him off the crit round, someone casting an art may get him to use zero storm instead of a S-Craft at least.

Anyway, good luck! As far as your question about the following boss fights, the final boss is easier.

Hey thanks for the thorough write-up! It's a lot to consider, actually, but now I think I have a clearer view of other things to try. The deal with one person staying out of range sounds pretty cool, I'll see what works with it and if necessarry, try out other characters instead of tita or maybe zane :o

Earth Wall. Use it and love it.

Hey guys, managed to beat it after a bit of grinding @ level 89 ! Getting a lot of recipe food and using it really helped, and the advice with speed + applying speeddown on the boss made it really managable! Thanks, finally past that roadblock!

You should definitely get up to level 90.

Whoever you take to the Loewe fight will be your final boss party. Do you really want to use Tita for the Loewe fight? She is literally incapable of surviving Loewe's S-Craft, so she would make a TERRIBLE choice for the Grail Locket. Kloe or Kevin's S-Crafts can help you survive that.

If you can survive the S-Craft, the rest of the fight should be easier. Loewe himself (but NOT his clones) are susceptible to Clock Down, so you can slow him while you speed yourselves up.

If being muted is your big problem, equip anti-Mute accessories instead of Anti-Faint. You should have at least one Grail Locket at this time to put onto someone who can remove the Faint status on others.

If he impedes you every time your speed may be too low. Do you have up-to-date Action quartz and Cast 2 on everyone? If you have the Time Gem equip that on a support. You can also use Grail Sphere to get some casts off in a pinch.

You can also try to spread out more so that Zero Storm only hits one person. This even allows to you to use Zero Storm against him by making him use that relatvely low damage craft. This requires Gaia Shield if you want Earth Guard on everyone anyway.

Spread to four corners. Bring Kevin with 200 CP and Zodiac, someone else with Gaia Shield, and an attacker with Clock Down.

Don't feel bad about burning through your items...

Yeah you won't be needing those for the last sequence. Don't be shy about feeding Agate all your Zerams and spamming Dragon Dive.

I used Joshua, Estelle, Josette, and Kloe. Kloe was the healer and I had her S-Craft charged and ready to go the minute anyone's HP looked low, Josette with a Fire 4 Orb and Joshua with a Fire 4 Orb had such insane attack that their S-Crafts did about 4K to everyone on the map, 2 uses of that each and the clones were gone. And Estelle I used to cast Clock Up EX on everyone and/or heal if needed, but I also set her up with Orbs to make her the caster for that. And she could still whap with her S-Craft for decent damage too.

Kevin, Estelle, Joshua and Agate are my preference. Not only is it a good team to beat him but they also have the best dialogue in the later parts of the game.
Give Kevin Gladiator Belt, and have him cast his S-Craft the moment the fight starts. After that you start increasing your speed with Clock Up EX.

Roles:
Estelle: Offensive arts or earth wall strat, both are fine especially on normal mode.
Joshua: Offensive arts.
Agate: Dragon dive, heal, wild rage, dragon dive. Obviously you wanna pay attention to whats going on.
Kevin: Earth wall, earth wall, earth wall. Grail Sphere if you need a quick protection.

If you have it, give the time gem to Kevin since all he is gonna be doing is to cast earth wall.

Keep in mind this is THE hardest boss fight in the game, especially on nightmare mode. The rest of the game is MUCH easier, so don't be shy to use your zeram items. You also get 100% Gladiator belt drop meaning it makes the rest of the game even easier.
OnlyOffensive May 31, 2019 @ 11:02am
Kevin is pretty much must have if you play nightmare. First opportunity use his s-craft, since loewe either uses his first turn or 2/3. Kill lions and clones, +spd urself -spd enemies ( thats vital ). I also find -ms buff on loewe usefull.

Enemies outspeed you really hard, so you're pretty much on defense most of the time, there are couple cheesy tactics like zeram feed and schera/agate AT advance combo. My favorite approach there ( nightmare ) is to spread and kite with -ms debuff, using clever shields and kevin s-craft. YOu absolutely dont want to cluster because of lions specials.
