What's lost would be the inflection and nuance of the Japanese statements. As the link Sara gives shows. You could go literal, but the literal lines really lose the improper speech that's being used. The localization actually captures that same attitude with different words.
That's the problem with literal translation, while you get word for word meanings, you often lose some of the storytelling aspect of those words. Because Japanese is a language that carries expression via the form of the words you're using, something English simply doesn't have.
Such a scene has never existed in any version of the game, or any of it's sequels. Someone is telling you lies.
