There are 2 companies who make Corpse Party games, one included CGs in their game, the other didn't. But the one who import Corpse Party on Steam was the one that didn't include CGs in their game, so no CG for the Steam version.
This version of the game is the first remake of the original early 90s game. "Corpse Party: Blood Covered": this version never had CGs, it was made long before those were put together.
The PSP remake is a remake of this version of the game. "Corpse Party: Blood Covered - Repeated Fear". Both versions were localized by XSEED Games, however the developer of the remake, 5pb, made the CGs and refused to allow those assets to be used with the original version of the game.
Hence why this version lacks them. They weren't taken out, they were never there to begin with.
However the US would be granted a great suprise as Blood Covered Repeated Fear came along on the PSP and then we proceeded to Book of Shadows a Year later and then Blood Drive would come out in 2013 only for it to take almost 3 years to get a pretty bad US port to the PSP Vita
This games negative reviews to those wondering is due heavily to the fact that on the 30th of this month the 3DDS version of Corpse Party Blood Covered which essentially has everything and basically makes the PSP version and this version irrelevant as ♥♥♥♥ is coming soon.
Making this game unless your a huge fan of the series a waste of money to start with even though there is a few scenes in this game that are not in Repeated Fear.
It's been explained thoroughly that this is the best we can get on PC. 5PB controls the remake assets and they weren't willing to share them for the PC version. That and due to the original Blood Covered's coding, it may have well been impossible to put them in at all.
I also explained the negative reviews and more. (Also considering the 3DDS version intends on adding what the PSP version of Repeated fear didn't have along with it's own content it's safe to assume that yes the 3DDS version is the ideal go to.)
Nobody even mentioned bringing the other versions to PC infact if you want to do that well there's only one way and it's Illegal so don't.
The game you were most likely watching IS the IOS and PS Vita release that was published by 5pb. and was released in Japan on August 12, 2010 and translated by XSEED Games. Several changes were made from the PC version, such as enhanced background graphics, inclusion of CG event artwork, and professional voice actors.
I know this discussion is a bit of a dinosaur, but I really hope this helps you down the road if you consider to purchase the IOS or PS Vita release. Really hope this helped!
