So excited to announce that SoulQuest is going to be published by Freedom Games!
For those who may not know, I have been working on SoulQuest mostly solo for over 4 years now so It's with great pleasure that I say that Freedom Games is partnering up with me to help me bring the game to the largest number of gamers as possible!

For those of you who may not know, having a game publisher like Freedom Games greatly helps indie developers focus on game development while they handle all the behind-the-scenes magic. From helping manage store pages to crafting marketing campaigns and even helping the game shine at both digital and live events, publishers help in all the aspects that indie developers often struggle with.

Feedback for demo

The dialog box looks plain and boring, which stands out like a sore thumb on an otherwise good-looking game. The cherry on top are the character portraits; they are just character sprites but upscaled. I'm assuming these are just placeholders for the time being and will be replaced later. There was a misspelling error in an earlier level, I don't remember which one exactly, where the main character says "your" when it should have been "you're". A quick way to know if it's your or you're is to replace it w...

Update 0.1.3 has arrived!!!

A new update has come to SoulQuest to fix some errors and rebalance asked by the community. Thank you guys so much for the support SoulQuest has been having this year.

Changes made:

- Added a zoom-out effect for platforming scenarios so players can get a better look at their surroundings.
- Increased the difficulty of the final boss.
- Increased air attacks style.
- Decreased "million stab" damage.
- Added a cooldown for aerial "million stab"
- Completing the current dialog now doesn't stop the voice audio.
- Corrected some misspelling errors.
- Added the function of running with the d-pad by double tapping a direction.
- Added the Join the Discord button on the main menu.

We are proud to announce that we have opened a Discord server for the game where will be posting about coming changes for future updates as well as upcoming news about the game.
The server also counts with channels where content creators can show their videos about the game, as well as servers where you can discuss about mechanics of the game and look for new strategies or combos.

I hope this game does not use any of soulslike mechanics

Cos I like what I see in trailers, but I'm afraid of high difficulty and irritating (for me) mechanics like revival of enemies on checkpoints, unability to block\evade during attack animation playback and etc.

Minor suggestion

Separate audio settings for the characters and the 'announcer' for combos. Greatly enjoyed the demo! Also, if you outrun the souls to the next screen they don't get added

Forced Analog Controls Gotta Go

I like to play my games on a Sega Genesis style controller, but it's really annoying having to constantly slide the switch over from d-pad to left analog on my controller to interact with stuff and navigate menus.
