Hacks?
Has anyone seen someone that spawns in and just warps around like crazy? The monster can't kill them and they just get keys and give keys to players randomly. The guy I saw that did this was named "Mushroom"

No, but I have seen a person playing monster named Kyle1337(or something simiar) who spawns always right next to players(literally you had exactly one second to reflexively sprint), I only managed to juke the pathetic attempt like 10 times before he got me while i was typing. Would be nice if this could get fixed, horror games just become stressful and not fun when they spawn next to you everytime

I've had a situation with the monster spawning right on top of players. Or always knowing where they were, without them setting off traps. A hack wouldn't surprise me in the least, but on some occassions it's just a spectator informing them of player locations through some other chat system.

that sounds like there using cheat engine a free hack engine that's useless to most but beware if its a person that know how to use it correctly its a powerful Memory editor

I was actually in some games with Kajirou and saw the same thing yesterday. I know it's some kind of hack, it's REALLY easy to do at this point in the games development. I've seen players as monster just spawn on top on players without using traps consistently like he said but also I've seen them completely negate the ghost/physical timer and just go in and out of forms as they please. These types of cheats can be done with simple variable changes, because the game has no check and balances. It's quite pathetic how many trolls there are already in this awesome game.

Unfortunately I think it's too early to claim for some bans \=

Well, if we record it, the developer could ban the user. I may stream next time I play in the hopes of catching these people.

Now, I often play the monster by request because you do have an advantage over the survivers. I have played the monster enough times to know where players will be without setting traps. With that being said, when I play as the monster, I tend to give players a chance by hosting games where the monster will chase you, but not kill you until you are close to the end. Still it is very easy for me to intercept players with the silver key. So instead of just killing survivors, I host games so that the players get a chance to explore and make rules that the monster will follow. People seem to have fun with this, but I get stuck with being the monster all the time. So if you see "chadwoodworth" as a user expect a long run at it. As soon as I'm not the monster or I join a game everyone quits and tells me to host a new game as the monster.

Thumbs up. I make it a point to do the same thing when I play monster. There would be no good horror movies if everyone died straight away. :devilskiss:

Well actually I would love to see everyone die straight away in most horror movies, seeing as almost 90% of all horror movies are terrible or wannabe pornos with horrible acting or cliché scripts.

Yeah, and I get creative and make scenairos to give the players that added rush. I actualy made a toilet monster that only lived in the bathroom. The only time I failed is when I created "Extreme Monster" because I thought only the Pros where going to play and everyone was mad because I killed them first chance. That didn't go over too well, my bad.

Being the monster can be fun, but you have to know where to draw the line. Currently it's pretty easy to predict where most players are going to be in the early part of the game. I like to pop up and chase them a bit at this point to give them a good scare, make them scatter a bit. Around the 3rd time of popping up I start going for kills. It really sucks to be killed early on, so it's nice to give players a chance to enjoy themselves.

In bodom I play extra nice. If they're trapped in a room or having trouble finding the key, I'll help them look for it. If they're out of their spawn rooms, I'll give them a good scare, but usually wait until they get the game room open before killing. If it's taking too long, I'll kill at least one person on each side but still leave one on the seperate sides to give them a chance. And if it's taking way too long, then I just kill them and assume it was unwinnable.

As for cheaters, it is a small team and early in the development phase. So it's gonna be pretty easy to cheat. Not sure if they'll have the time/resources to prioritize cracking down on cheaters. I'd recommend having a community list of known cheaters, so people know who to watch out for, but that could easily get filled with names of people who are just good experienced players. So there might not really be a solution at this point, and we'll just have to deal with it.
