Time to uninstall then because if you don't like that type of comedy then there's no hope for you and you'll be annoyed throughout the entire trails series.

Olivier is a weirdo, but not a pedo. Half the stuff he says is just to troll people and get funny reactions out of them. His introduction is a big example, and that introduction is the most off-putting he gets in the entire franchise.

people are so used to blindly virtue signalling about everything they gaslight themselves into hating everything. It's funny.

Yes he sure indeed is a main character alright. He is integral not only to the Sky games, but also to the Crossbell games and the Cold Steel games as well, which are games that he returns in.

Although they write him as if he's a totally different character in the Cold Steel games which bears little to no resemblance to how he is characterized in the Sky games. But he is still "supposed" to be the same character.

This point is true. Olivier is just one example of that, but he's not the only one. All of the LOH Trails games have similar jokes, not just the Sky games. Crossbell and Cold Steel also have a lot of jokes like that too.

if Commenting on beauty wherever you see it (Boys/girls/men/women) equates to pedophilia, well, you might need to step back a little and realize you're looking for something that isn't there.

Estelle and Joshua aren't children anymore in their world context, as they're apt to became trainees to one of the most dangerous jobs. And at this point of the tale Olivier is barely an young adult himself, there is not so much age gap between them.
Most of all, you shouldn't take things for their face value, I know that Olivier likes to see the people's reactions to his façade, but even at this point it's pretty obvious that he is up to something, even if we don't know yet if he is friend or foe.

If you don't let Olivier into your party, you won't get to enjoy the party's many comments on his actions and behaviour, though! :energy_tank:

Nah, his character was always the same, the debaucherous schemer. The difference between the 2 games is that for Sky, you are an external party to his schemes, so you don't see it as clearly as in Steel while in Steel, you are a pawn in his plan so the "plan" is seen a lot more clearly and there is less mystique about his actions.

Of course he IS a flighty flirt, all the better to keep him out of Cedric's way. You do remember that he is older than Cedric so he really has a case to take over his "family business" if people wanted to create a faction, hence his cultivated persona, but he's not really as incompetent as he pretends to be. Case in point as how he defused the Ruan riot or how he derailed Osborne's plans in SC.

The one that really threw me off was Lecter.

It's pretty well known that Trails in the Sky was translated very.. uhm.. freely. In other words, it heavily changed and warped characterization. I only played the first chapter of this with the voice mod, because I got curious, and the translation is not even remotely close to the original intention of the writer(s). Especially Joshua was heavily changed, maybe to make things more "funny". I don't know. Wouldn't be surprised if other characters are also hit.
It might not be quite on working designs level, but it sure is a very different experience from the original.
