what level is reccomended for the martial arts tournement in grancel?

just been given the chance to train up before registering which is great because im almost certain that im underlevelled, i barely scraped by the last big fights and im worried ill enter this tournement too weak with no way to back out. ive just levelled estelle and joshua to level 25 how much further should i go while i have this chance?

I'd say at least level 28...

But this comes from a guy who loves doing low-level challenge runs, so...

In fact, I think you could beat the game easily at level 25. Though obviously the later bosses would give you too much exp then and you would (unintentionally) gain some levels...

It's funny they give you quartz to avoid encounters, but no quartz to block exp gain. To at least a certain degree would be nice.

Sorry, just talking to myself. Level 28 sounds reasonable to me, at least!

Question, slightly off topic, but is it possible to join the Fisherman's Guild?

Nah. Besides fishing was really only a 1 time thing in Valleria Lakeshore. You only get to fish after some items and such, and for the achievment of course.

Though the fishing minigame aspect does get a bit more prominent in the sequel and in future games. You have multiple locations where you can fish, gather different baits and rods. Lots of different fish too.

The two characters who join Estelle and Joshua are level 31 and level 33 and the foes you fight at the arena are level 27/28 in the first fight and (for the most part) level 30 in the later ones. That should give you a clue on where the game's expecting you to be, though you get two small dungeons to level in between fights and the Erbe scenic route is pretty suitable for training before that.

Sequel has Estelle and Joshua, though the later games don't have them as the main characters as far as I'm aware, and yeah XSEED is localising the sequel (hopefully soon).

Eh, you really might want to edit that one and hide the spoilers for the sake of people who haven't played all three games yet.

Also, yes, XSeed is localizing the sequel, it has Estelle and Joshua as protagonists, it picks up a few hours after this game ends and it's set for release within 4 or 5 months.

I don't even know who Renne and Richard are lol. Also, Im at that arena match too. Decided to grind a bit with the scenic park areas and now Im at level 27 each. Should be enough for a good challenge.

I think the Richard being reffered to is in this game. You should know him as he's the antagonist. The whole black uniform, seemingly perfect personality and nice hairdo. The female assisstant who wants to kidnap an 11 year old for their plans...pretty hard to point it out anymore than that.:P
