everything will work fine.
From a hint in the Linux thread I tried turning off the Steam overlay, which didn't seem to be working for me anyway. No more crashes on focus change!

Cool, thanks!
I'm on a MAC (version 10.7.4) and Wine isn't working for me. Is there any help you or anyone can provide?
I already did install all those Winetricks.
The game just doesn't start...it's just a plain black screen when i run it.
I found I had to disable the movies (in the game's config) to prevent a similar problem. Maybe try that? (One is just the company splash screen, the other is right after the boy says "My name is..." and can be watched just fine in a regular video player so you don't miss it)
You can also just mash whatever your Cancel key is mapped to, that's how you skip the videos when they do work and that does skip the nonexistent videos in WINE.
A similar issue I ran into is with the ending cutscene. I'm not sure if it's the same thing, where it's actually kinda playing the video but showing a black screen, and if I'd have received the ending screen by waiting, but I wanted to see the cutscene anyways so I just booted a Windows install to finish the game =/
