PS3 Controller?

I'd like to set this up with an old PS3 controller, since I still use my PS4 and don't want to unsynch a controller from that.

Yet I can't get it to work. I've got Steam Detecting it! I've enabled it in controller properties in steam. But when I go to try and config the game, and go to the input section of the Config Tool, it only ever shows an Xbox Controller option.

Has something changed? Is there something going on now? Because I really can't figure this out.

Try using DS4Windows, I used that in the past to play this game, Steam controller emulation is sometimes a little weird with old controllers.
Would also recommend playing with the PS4 one, literally takes seconds to sync it between devices and I believe using it via USB doesn't unsync it from the PS4.

Its not hard to change between ps4 and pc like 5 seconds to pair. PS3 controllers are a pain on PC

I'm using ViGEm ( https://vigem.org/ ) to play with my PS3 controller and it works fine in every game I've tried so far, on or off Steam.
It supports USB and Bluetooth connections, so you can play even when charging.

Just get and install:
- VigemBus (the driver)
- BthPs3 (Bluetooth)
- dshidmini (Controller settings)

The project has extensive documentation and it's really easy to follow. Pay attention during the Bluetooth dongle setup there's some extra care needed there.

By default the driver emulates a Xbox 360 controller, because it's controller most games support on windows, but you can change that using dshidmini ( https://vigem.org/projects/DsHidMini/HID-Device-Modes-Explained/ ).
