Does the movie spoil the game?

I was scrolling through Anime Network's on-demand service and saw they had a movie based this game.. I watched about the first 30minutes of it and enjoyed it enough to want to keep on watching, but, then I thought that it could possibley spoil the game for me, so for now I've held off on going any further with it.

As soon as I get some extra money I plan on buying and playing this game.. But before then I don't want anything spoiled by the movie.. So.. is it safe for me to watch the movie or should I hold off on it until I actually finish the game first?

I've read in a few places that the movie is more focused on the plot of the sequel, which hasn't come out yet in English (coming out Winter 2014 or early 2015), so fron that alone I can guarantee that yes, it will spoil the game. It's also like, the short and sweet version so it's pretty rushed without destroying quality. Something like that.

Yep it spoils most of the stuff and it's badly made and lacking important parts (it's an ova by the way) i suggest you don't watch it unless you want to see sneak peeks of stuff.

Not just lacking important parts, but it pretty much cut out the last third of SC's plot and completely changed around how one part happens to cut it off so early and pretty much removes the actual villain from the plot.

Ok.. I'll hold off on going any further with it then.. Guess I'll go finish up watching Knights of Sidonia on Netflix instead It'll probably be sometime next week when I purchase the game (all my money is tied up with going to watch the Seahawks play the Raiders this Thursday) but I'm really looking forward to getting into it.. If anything the anime made me more juiced to get this game!

How many movies are there?

I just finished SC (called up a friend in Taiwan to mail me the Chinese versions), and watched the 2 episodes. It didn't spoil the 3rd game, the only thing I can think of that I didn't see in SC is the actual scene where Joshua and Lowi rescued Renne, however that is something the player can easily figure out by the words spoken by Renne herself. ,

I recall seeing an anime clip of that impossible fight with Lowi on the top of the Liberl ark central tower, but that fight wasn't in the anime.

So is there another movie?

Nope, only two OVAs. That Renne scene comes from the 3rd. You can easily guess what happened there but it doesn't have nearly half the impact of the game's scene (especially the uncensored version).

Anyway, it's been said before but the OVAs are good fanservice material but you shouldn't watch them unless you've played the games or are really familiar with the series (and most of the important SC events).
