[Sidequest Spoiler C3] Game-freezing bug

First of all, I wanna apologize if this is a known bug; I haven't read all the threads beforehand, because I wanted to avoid spoilers. Now I'm just a few hours away from finishing the game. I did look through the last couple of thread sites, but I didn't find the issue I want to report.
Once again, if this was already reported, I apologize.

I found a game-freezing bug in Chapter 3, the sidequest I'm talking about is "Haulage Vehicle Repair!", which is a ("hidden") follow up quest to "Haulage Vehicle Search".

After you talk to the guy at the vehicle (I think his name is Wong, it's not the bracer that attends him), you can finish the first quest, or talk to Prometheus at the Central Factory in Zeiss for the replacement "Drive Orbment".

So far so good. What you're supposed to do after talking to Prometheus, who doesn't give you the item, is to "talk" to the Capel computer on the 5th floor, read "Related Topics" -> Haulage, to find out that a NPC called "Rudi" in the B1 floor of the factory got that orbment you need to advance the quest. If you do that, everything works out fine, and you can finish all the quests.

First of all, I don't know what happens if you read through the Haulage part on the computer before attending to this quest. I did not read the "Haulage" part on the computer before doing this sidequest. I would imagine the quest would just work out fine this way.

If you talk to Rudi just after talking to Prometheus, without reading on the computer first, he says nothing related to the quest.

Now to the actual freezing part:

If you now walk all the way back to the broken Haulage and talk to Wong, the game freezes. You can click through all the (new) dialogue, the music keeps playing, but after the dialogue ends, you're stuck, you can't move, or get into any menu, not with a controller, not with mouse, not with keyboard. Only way to even get out of the game is to force the .exe to stop.

I did test it several times, also finishing the "Messenger of Love!" Quest before doing this quest, still, Rudi won't change his dialogue and/or give you the replacement part, and the game still freezes once you talk to Wong.


Sorry for the wall of text, but I wanted to explain the problem as detailed as possible.

It is no mayor issue, but from what I've seen there are not many walkthroughs on the internet that tell you to read through the "Haulage" part on the computer after talking to Prometheus, so I think this bug could potentially happen to quite a few other players as well.

Other than that, I found no gamebreaking bug, or had any other problem in my soon to be 40 hours of playing.
Thank you for bringing this game to Steam, all the work and patches and paying attention to all the reported issues and other threads people are making. I'm looking forward to playing the SC as well in the (hopefully) not too far off future.

If someone is still reading (I don't judge you if not), there is still one thing I think could use some improvement:

S-Breaks, and the ability to rebind them. Until now, I'm just using "JoyToKey" to bind the 1-4 to the right controller stick. Maybe I overlooked something, or it's just not possible/will be implemented/etc.
Just food for thought.

I had this exact problem, and was wondering why i couldn't get Rudi to give me the quest item. I went all the way to Wong to see if anything changed, and my game froze too.
