Sorry if this is a massive nub question, but where are you supposed to cook? I have many ingredients, but I don't know where and how to cook.

Open your recipe book to start. Foods you can cook will be in white text, while foods with insufficient ingredients will be in grey text.

Press the C button by default to bring up the recipe book. It can also be accessed through the Inventory > Books section.

Also, in case you missed it, you get new recipes by eating food you buy elsewhere (well, generally...there are a few recipes you're given by people).
