From a game's library page, select Manage > Properties.
Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game files... button.
Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.
After a few hours trying this was a workaround for PS4/PS5 Controller:
1. Launch Steam in Big Picture mode
2. Open Trails in the sky configuration tool
3. Go to Input > Gamepad
4. Check if the gamepad shows up. If it shows, continue this step. If not there's a workaround later. (Do not matter if it shows a Xbox360 controller)
5. Enable Gamepad
6. Start Game and check if you can use the controller.
7. Exit the game, exit Big Picture Mode and launch the game normally. Check if works normally now.
The other way around we found, when the controller won't show up, it was using a software called DS4Tool and using a PS4 Controller.
And do the same steps from before. And finally the game worked perfectly but only on Big Picture mode.
Had no issues with SC or 3rd.
