XP gain is exponential based on how far behind you are. You should never, ever have to grind.

There isn't a single fight in this entire game that you should have to grind for.

If you want, play on easy and hold turbo and dialogue skip. Although, you probably won't enjoy this game if that's how you're going to approach it.

Waypoint is correct. If your party members are too far behind from the intended level then you get a lot more experience but if you are getting single digit values worth of exp then your party is already at the intended level. If, for some reason, you are having trouble with boss fights (and fights have been given you single digit exp) then the reason is somewhere else than in the levels of your party members and you just might have to change your strategy to defeat them.

im still early into the game, currently at where estelle sneak into the ship of the bad guys, and end up in their base. there is this room full of bad guys to clear if want to proceed, i kept dying, and i cant get out to grind, its frustrated. i just want to enjoy the story, i need to skip battles lol.

Okay, this is going to sound condescending, but none of what we said has changed. Any of the fights you could be alluding to are not difficult. Unless you're on nightmare, grinding is irrelevant and you're just playing poorly.

Use flicker on Joshua to delay the enemies. Give Schera enough wind quartz to use aerial. GG.

Give us more details on what you're doing, and we'll provide more advice.

The Game has retry offset(its on by the default but you migh check it in the options just in case)

That means you can retry the battle right away and that particular fight will be easier. This works until you can pretty much button mash yourself trough the fight

Don't forget there is turbo mode.

Also remember you can change your battle position in the Tactics submenu. Try starting people further back so you get a clean turn of casting against those big groups. Alternate between grouping up and spreading out depending on how much AOE the fight throws at you and how much you're using Earth Wall or AOE heals.

well, you can always get a trainer from cheat happens site, i ran into an issue where i was too underleveled, and used it to jump 3 levels with estell and joshua so they wont die in 2 hits.

Unless you are on nightmare no battle should be hard (maybe except lowe who is optional to beat).

This is a game series where even on nightmare you don't need to grind , so on easy mode you should do just fine.

well, for people who dont like to fight alot or explore and just stick to story, they could be underleveled to the point trash mobs are difficult, its just a matter of, "i dont have time to grind since real life are preventing me for dedicating more then an hour or so per day"

You do need to grind a bit for the second game's Nightmare, mind you. Enjoy trying the prologue without that shining pom in the forest :/

But yeah anything less than that is totally doable.
