No real hope but i really really dislike the faces, Is there a way to change portraits?
I ve looked a bit, found a japanese thing with alternative portarits, but my antivirus says it's a no no to open.

If someone here knows stuff, please share, thanks.

There's the Evolution remakes of the games with the portraits redrawn in a flatter, 2000's style. If you can find a folder with the Evo portraits named after their original counterparts (ie, KAOA12B), then you just need to overwrite your existing portraits with them. Be warned: if you decide to try to rename each and every one of the 200+ portraits (or simply browse through them), you will come across spoiler portraits!

The original portraits are better though in my opinion, there are about 30 portraits for Estelle alone and the EVO version only has 4 or 5.

Am I the only one who does not prefer the style they use for the evolution remakes and zero/ao no kiseki portraits? I honestly think the original ones look way better. Ehh, just my opinion though ^-^

Get the downloads from the reddit link above by Hugoos, they work fine, with no virus warning.

I could very well be an idiot, but the reddit link is just a list of mods, the only link it provides is for coldsteel.

Small warning: I would recommend not to use the video mod included on a first playthrough, especially for SC. I think they assume you have already played the originals so they spoil a lot of the story in the intro movie.

funny how a small change in portraits increases my will to bare the looong start of the game, i now like estelle^^.

I didn t install the movie files, nor the voice ones, i probably will do the voice somewhere down te line, the face pack was mandatory if i wanted to continue playing.

something weird just happened: i reinstalled the original portraits.
The new ones don't fit, estelle is more pretty but loses any distinctive trait, her first portrait illutrates in a better way her character.

Let her be a rude peasant girl over a good looking generic girl!

While some of the EVO artwork looks lovely, I do think it loses a lot of meaning and charm. Our favourite rude peasant girl must remain untainted!

In the real EVO version the portraits also animate.
But I agree, the original portraits can just convey a wider variety of emotions.
