They're only hard on Hard/Nightmare because the difficulty changes are stat boosts for enemies, and those were not part of the original release, but added in for the PSP versions.
The complaints about Hard/Nightmare are mostly for SC, and only at the start because of how limited your options are at the start for equipment and items.
But there is also an additional "easy mode" in addition to that, even though it's not technically a difficulty mode.
To access that "easy mode," you have to turn on the option called "Retry Offset."
Then if all your characters get knocked out, you can press the "Retry" button to restart the battle.
Every time you do that, the enemies become nerfed more vs. how strong they were when you just got defeated to them.
So you can do the Retry trick 2 or 3 or 4 or 5 times in a row, and the enemies will keep getting weaker each time. But you probably won't need to use it that much if you choose Normal mode in the first place.
My point is, the Retry Offset feature makes sure you won't ever get stuck due to the enemies being too hard.
I hate it when lengthy RPG games don't let you change difficulty half way through and you end up getting an annoying experience at either end of the spectrum when you blind guess a difficulty setting (I've had to outright quit some Kingdom Hearts games that were too hard for me; and more recently I'm finding the Tail end of Fire Emblem: Three houses a bit of a bore and a slog for being waaay to easy..)
I think I just went with normal for this, I only discovered this series recently and I figure if I've got about ~6 games to get through here then I may as well pick the quickest and easiest mode that won't roadblock me too much :P
Farming shining poms is always a good idea and everyone should do it every time new ones are available. But that's not overleveling. That's just leveling up to the level your characters are supposed to be for that zone.
It seriously won the battle for me.
It's even funnier on Nightmare, because its brokenness scales directly with how strong the target is. Enjoy watching those two pikemen just completely murder each other.
and whats that value?
