Game is nice , i think i will buy game 3 also if quality of game remains as stellar as in the first 5 hours
Save the chest for later in the chapter. It drops good stuff.
Most of the quest monsters, as I recall, are either in an obvious 'here is the boss room' place, or - when you approach them on the field - the game says something like "A large monster is prowling around" and asks you do you want to fight it. Pick 'no', and you'll walk away.
And yes, in Sky in particular (not in Cold Steel), running away is not random. It either always works, immediately, or you straight up can't run at all.
You'll get a third party member before the end of the prologue. Try the fight again once you have her -- the action advantage helps, and she comes with a strong AOE spell.
