[Suggestion] Unlimited Flashlight and Camera batteries.
Hi, players and (hope) developers!

I am as an adventure\exploring\walking simulator fan, want to leave a small suggestion. As title say: I personally think that limited flashlight\camera batteries destroy the spirit of exploration. Also searching for batteries throughout levels is not what you want when you are focused on puzzle solving and again exploration\environment admiring. :)

Thanks for listening and have a gg! I had an extreme pleasure going through the story. Thank you.

I like searching for loot and if they remove the batteries they would be removing the only loot in the game.I wouldn't mind if they made it optional though, like a checkbox in the menu for unlimited battery.

Yeah, option would be better.

I can agree with an option for unlimited flashlight, but unlimited battery for camera would kinda make people wander around with the camera all the time and waiting for it to focus, instead of actually scouting the environment and see if there is anything worthy of bringing out the camera for :)

If not unlimited, longer battery life would be nice. During my two hours of playing the flashlight was only able to keep the full charge for a couple of minutes at best. Sometimes it even felt like it lost charge without being used.

I use up the batterys alot and always still find so many. So heres a intresting concept. Difficulty selection in options menu. But it only affects battery placement. Where easy being theres alot of batterys around the area. and where hard is lack of batterys on the map. Or hard to find.

I am using the current build, and I have 10 packs of batteries for the flashlight and four for the camera. I think the devs could have made it more strict.

I would throw away any torch that ran out so quickly and get a camera fixed that alsoran out so quickly. If they lasted longer I would be happier. I haven't played in a while as I got so fed up with battery life!
I looked it up and the SHORTEST time that a battery will last in a flashlight, is five HOURS.
...and I thought that okay, maybe your specific flashlight is short circuiting. ...but you find heavy duty flashlights all over the place in this game, and should be able to pick them up instead. ONE of them should be working.
The needle-in-a-haystack "puzzles" are bad enough as it is. The fault finding mechanic was great while it was relying on logic, but soon enough it descended into scouring walls in darkness on a timer, and that's really the opposite of fun. You are HIDING these things.
I think the worst fault was the bomb you hid amidst the coal. At that point I was quicksaving and scouring ahead with camera and flashlight just scouring walls all over the place, when my camera picked up SOMETHING wrong, and I couldn't tell what it picked up until the bomb exploded underneath my feet. I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ HATE darkness, because it slows down exploration to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ speed. At least give us more light switches to find (in LOGICAL places, even if it's at the end of the corridor we just passed through).

Take the tram ride, for instance: That's a long tram ride, where you can't go back, and there are plenty of faults to find. ...but unless you have your flashlight on nonstop, you won't be able to see the roof of the tunnel, and while you didn't place any exposed rebar there, you COULD have, and so we have to wear our eyes out the entire time, throughout the ride, while going on the slowest possible speed, because somehow not even the breaks work after they've been disengaged (yet the BREAKS can't be photographed).
...and for reference, a poor camera battery lasts something like 8 hours - not 60 seconds. I also noticed that the SAVE phone battery NEVER runs out. ...so why can't you take pictures with your phone??? Even though I'm finding lots and lots of batteries to keep myself fully stocked, this mechanic really distracts from gameplay.

...but giving the player infinite batteries, will lead to the HUD being obsctructed at all times, so what I'm proposing, is that Mark's arms should get tired after a few seconds of holding them up, and the flashlight and camera should gradualy begin to lower until he has to recover a bit. That's more realistic.

@Oskutin Hello, what about the unlimited batteries for the camera?
These can not be found and run out too quickly, even if I restrict myself to photographing the necessary strict :steamfacepalm:

There are plenty to find all around.
