Playtime difference

I was wondering why I have a large differnce of time played. My game time play is way more than what is recorded on achievement play. I make sure that I am logged into Steam everytime but there is almost 30 hours less playtime noted.

The steam playtime and achievement playtime is different. Steam playtime measures all the time the exe is running even if you are sitting in the main menu. Achievement playtime however, only records when theres a game session running, eg when you are loaded into a map. Map loading screens and main menu is not counted. And if you played the game a lot, about 30 hours total outside game session not completely illogical. If you have played when the achievement system was buggy and didn't propely initiate a game session, game time is also lost here.

Thanks for the explanation. I do seem to get my achievements, it's those 90% ones that I am close to but don't seem to advance much with a new playthrough.

Nah, something is amiss here. I was at 61.4 achievement time then I had 59.9 recorded and now when I opened up I see 59.3. I'm going to do another walkthrough this time focusing on the geocaches. According to fellow gamers I should have enough found for the achievement.

no those achievements are NOT based on time. They are based on amount in percentage, eg for example geocache = amount of geocaches / number of total geocaches. And they reset each playthrough.

No, I'm sorry you misunderstood. I was talking about the time spent playing the game. When I checked my achievement time it went down from 61.4 hours to 58.7 hours of playtime. Weird?
My % numbers for the last three achievements are 83/90 photgraphs 87/90 geocaches and 88/90 water repairs.

(I know that if I restart a chapter I have to play it all the way through as if it was the first time)
