This game is impossible
I started looking at walkthroughs somewhere in chapter 5. I couldn't have got any further without them unless I devoted an exhaustive 'try everything' approach and devoted hundreds, maybe thousands of hours to completing the game. Long past the point where it was enjoyable.

Could anyone really finish the game without help ? I find it unlikely.

Yes, the game is quite completable without any walkthroughs (of course not chasing the achieves). Chapter 5 is one of my favorites, cause i like fixing things (in RL it is my job at the moment).
P.S.: Keep in mind that every hard puzzle have alternative way!

Just to be clear, I picked that name before 'troll' meant what it does today. I'm not trying to annoy people. I'm genuinely interested to know whether anyone can complete this game without help.

Walkthroughs rather useful to obtain all collectibles (docs, photos, geocaches) and make your gameplay more complete.

Finished it no big problrms just save often since you can die sometimes though i had to use a game guide once or twice for achievements - those geocaches are really hard to find sometimes

I did all of the mandatory stuff without looking things up with a mix of trial and error and figuring out the logic behind things. I did, however, used help for many of the collectibles.

I had to go to the Guides once or twice, but that is normal for me.

I did look on the internet for info on a few, like I found training vids for starting the 3 phase generators on Utube. Not game guides, for-real ones! 8-)

The worst for me was the bridge crane at the nuclear plant, followed by the raft (My Summer Raft), then the control room at the coal plant (which was more stupid than anything.) The game is generally straightforward, though it helps to know a little about actual facilities, especially stuff like generator synch.

Most problems I had were not with fixing machines but between them, in knowing where to go and what to do next. For instance, very near the end you have to pilot a boat a long way along the river. In my first attempt I missed an important clue (in the air) and spent a long time trying to figure out where I should take the boat. I ended up following power wires, but by this time I had got turned around and I followed them in the wrong direction.

There are other places where one direction leads to collectables and another direction continues the plot. Sometimes I got one, other times I got the other. And sometimes when I wanted collectables I found myself ending the chapter having missed them. I can't imagine how long it would have taken me to complete the game without using a walkthrough just to get me past a point of frustration.

I'm not bad at exploration games. But normally there are more clues than this one has, like the classic "go the direction the monsters are coming from". Perhaps this game is in a particular blindspot of mine.

I get the impression that the devs are more used to real life, which does not have that kind of clues. But it does have clues that usually work... 8-)

Finished it without walkthrough. Hate using them, especially for the type of game like INFRA. Failed to fix some stuff and of course missed a ot of photos etc. But a very satisfying (and very long) playthrough nevertheless. Will do it again soon.

Err.. yea completed it easily ages ago. One of my favorite adventure/exploration games. Zero need for walkthroughs unless perhaps this type of game isnt your cup of tea. I love games that dont hold your hand and guide you through everything. Just leave me alone - I'm quite sure a screwdriver is what I need right now - I dont need a neon sign pointing towards one on a table ;)

It's a challenge sometimes yea, but it is very possible to complete it without walkthroughs, my first run was completely on my own, second and third I've used some help to get achivements

I'm another person who finished without walkthroughs, even though sometimes it took me a few days to crack a puzzle. It's all about figuring out how the game thinks. The puzzles are almost always very logical and intuitive, within the game's environment and mechanics. I have found this to be one of the best puzzle games I have ever played. The puzzles are not only challenging, but extremely varied.

I used the walkthrough quite a fair bit, mostly because I was impatient to know more of the story and didn't bother checking every last box for that one missing fuse or valve.
