Help with water sensors puzzle in Bergmann tunnel?
Hi! First off, I'm loving INFRA and can't wait to play more. Unfortunately, I'm stuck at the water sensors pipes puzzle toward the beginning of part 1, chapter 3.

As far as I can tell, all of the valves in the pipe room (and the A2 valve just outside) are shut tight. Still, hitting the blue "WATER SENSORS" button does nothing. Thinking that maybe this wasn't the right approach, I've gone through the room several times adjusting the valves in all kinds of ways: All on, all off again, some on and some off...

With that approach having yielded no results, I've since gone back to roam around and hopefully make new observations. I even loaded to the beginning of the chapter in the hopes of spotting something new from there, but alas, no luck. Actually, loading back only got me locked outside the room altogether when the valve door leading to the pipe room no longer worked! So yeah, I'm thoroughly perplexed and need some assistance.

If it helps any, I've noticed the electronic device to the immediate left of the door nearby isn't lit up like on most other doors:

The solution is to have some pipes open and some closed, if I recall correctly. I think the specifics are explained in the note right next to the map. I usually took the alternative route, so I might be wrong with what I say, but I think to open the door you have to either:
Have all pipes closed that run through the room, all pipes opened that don't cross the room.
or:
Vice Versa.
Use the map for orientation.

Okay, I was just there and what I did was turn off A2 on the outside. Then looking at the display in the orange grid I see that pipes A1 A3 and A4 need to be turned off. Did that and then pushed blue button and door light went green. I think what you are doing is turning off too many pipes. Just do the three that are indicated on the display.

Thank you for your help! Sadly, after trying your suggestions in their various forms, the problem remains. I've decided to load back to the beginning of the chapter for good and retrace my steps with a fresh mind, but now I can't even get the door to the puzzle room open, just like before. I guess that leaves me with another issue to solve altogether, eh? I've resorted to peeking at a video walkthrough and following it exactly, but I still end up with a water sensor that doesn't work or a door that prevents me from doing the puzzle altogether. :steamsad: Needless to say, any further assistance is deeply appreciated! For what it's worth, I never managed to do precisely as DSpecht recommended; though the pipe room valves are seemingly dealt with properly, the valves outside the room are all closed—I can't figure out how or even where to reach them.

So you're telling me that in the display by the closed door all the indicator lights in the orange cross hatched section are off? The valve A2 although located outside the pump room has its indicator light in the orange box grid.

Yup! For reference, the indicator lights currently appear as they do in my opening post, though they do light up as expected based on whether I've opened or closed the valves. By the way, I managed to get back into the pipe room by ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around with the door switches from earlier in the level.

Perhaps the issue is to do with the way I've distributed power through the facility?

and this is it after closing the three pipes in this room; all set to go

The main difference between what I see in your screenshots and what I see in-game is that I don't have C4, B4, and B5 lit up. Do you know how I'd fix that? They're not lit up when I enter the pipe room for the first time.

see you may have a broken bit of game here, maybe you need to verify the integrity of game files. Right click Infra in library, choose properties, then local files, and finally verify...

I did not do anything to any pipes anywhere else in this section.

Funnily enough, that was the first thing I tried before making this thread. I went ahead and did it again because why not, but all files are present and accounted for. Out of curiosity, I enabled the console and loaded up the map fresh instead of loading to my earliest save at the beginning of the level. I couldn't get into the pipe room again and failed to repeat my earlier success toying with the door switch panels to fix it (another bug?), so I noclipped my way past it and found that the C4, B4, and B5 lights are still dead.

Anyway, I'll go ahead and report this as a bug. Thanks to the both of you for your help and patience! I really do appreciate it.

As a small consolation this section is part of a side achievement and not too crucial to the main story. You can just proceed through the other hatch door and continue the story. That of course is provided you still have some electrical power for the other switches and fuses you will encounter.

The piperoom does have a fair share of outside influences, requiring player to have switched "pipe room" switch on near the massive doors at the start to be accessable and completeable.

If I'm understanding correctly, the process goes something like this: Pull the large "1, 2, 3, 4" door switches, flick on the smaller switches ("pipe room" included), turn off the panel, hit "reset", turn it back on, then proceed through the now-open massive door and make my way to the pipe room to solve the puzzle. If so, the good news is that this process seems to work with enough repetition, though the pipe room door has yet to unlock without me running back and forth to toy with the small switches near the massive doors a few times over. I didn't run into this roadblock on my first attempt, but I don't really doubt that the issue lies with user error on this one. Plus, so long as the pipe room door eventually opens, the problem is as good as solved.

That said, I'm nonetheless left with the pipe room puzzle itself. Assuming the issue has to do with power not being appropriately distributed throughout the facility (maybe why the electronic door box at the bottom of my original post isn't lit up?), how would I configure the various doodads around the level to fix this?

Of course you are right. I've always just turned on everything at that panel not paying attention to the individual switches functions.

What I did is pull down the large switches, flip all the panel switches on, then hit the on button, then hit reset. Everything for me was just pressed once.
