first i bought the game and played it and then tried it on gmod but the maps wont work so i refunded it and then i bought it again and the refunded it again, idk what to do anymore lol

An amazing game. So much to see and find, you can truly feel the love that went into making this.

Unfortunately, I have decided not to recommend this game, which is tough for me because I liked it until the back half of the game. This game goes from a solid 8-9 out of 10 to a 5-6 for me, and here's why. There are 10 chapters in this game, and the first 7 chapters I loved because, as a walking sim and puzzle/exploration fan, this game was as good as it could get for them. The atmosphere, the locations to explore, and puzzles were, for the most part, unique from each other and fun with the perfect amount of difficulty without needing to look up a guide for it. Exploring the new locations like the Dam, the sawmill, and the water treatment plant was all fun in their own way. The main character has a unique sense of humor that I gelled with, and I enjoyed listening to him talk on occasion.

Real quick though, a small nitpick I have is that even though the game play is good for the most part I felt that the system of finding batteries for the flashlight and camera was unnecessary as the batteries while plentiful throughout the game, if you happen to run out you would miss out on taking pictures of important areas and events which can affect the ending of the game that you get. With that being said, it wasn't bad at all, just felt that the system was unnecessary to the core game play loop.

Now comes the bad part, so the first 7 chapters were amazing, a puzzle/exploration fan's dream, but after that, chapters 8 and 9 were so bad that it essentially ruined the game for me, and I will explain why. For the most part INFRA was pretty linear with chapters 1-7 but in chapter 8 it is completely disregarded and turned into an semi open world section that is so frustratingly created that it was extremely hard to figure out a way to go and figure out what to do which had never been a problem before then for me. Maybe that is just me, and you might find that chapter 8 was really fun, but it gets worse. At the end of chapter 8, you are put under a sudden time crunch involving the story and you can feel the pace of the game speed up as you are in a race against time to do what you need to do but at this moment in chapter 9, they decided to put the longest and by far the most frustrating section of the game just before the finale. It completely ruins the pace of the game for me and just adds to my hatred of these two chapters that ruined my experience. You go across this apartment complex, just running around doing odd jobs for seemingly no reason, completely ignoring the looming threat of running out of time, and it took me out of the game. For the first time in a slow-paced game, you are feeling the intensity, and the pace picks up only to immediately shut that down and drop the pace to a snail's crawl, just forgetting about the story. The finale was fine and wrapped up the story decently, depending on the ending you got, but I just can't ignore my terrible experience with those later chapters.

At the end of the day, the lore and universe of this game are cool, and I enjoyed my experience of the game, until I didn't. Overall, there is a lot of fun to be had with this game, with its unique style and immersion that can suck you into the world and if you are into puzzle/exploration and walking sim games then I feel that you would really like this game and then I could recommend it but unfortunately that will not be the case this time.
