I would agree with OP that even if it's a setting perhaps it should be auto-on instead of Auto-off to start with. Considering it's a teamwork game and all.
Well why not a setting to turn it on or off permanently? Sucks to start a match and go oh damn we forgot to turn it on, lets restart.
They're not making it competitive, they're giving an option to literally please both sides of the coin. I don't understand why we're complaining about an option. If it was turned on by default, we'd be having the same discussion just the other way around by SOMEONE. It's right there in the middle of the screen. Choose your tem and check or uncheck it. I'm sorry but if you fail to make this very simple click that's on you. It's not exactly a new concept to have reoccuring settings you have to do after choosing "your character". Vampire Survivors anybody? Or many other survivor-likes for that matter?
