While we wait, let’s talk Tems. Specifically, let’s take a look at one of the beefiest tanks currently stomping around in Temtem: Swarm, our shiny-shelled friend, Crystle, and its evolutions, Sherald and Tortenite.

Crystle isn’t just a beginner Tem anymore. In Swarm, Crystle’s passive toughness becomes a full-on playstyle. Early on, it's your frontline wall, soaking up hits, anchoring your team, and generally refusing to die. It’s the type of Tem you want by your side when things get spicy.

The Crystle line pulls double duty in Swarm, tapping into both Crystal and Toxic technique pools. That means you’re not just tough, you’re tricky. Whether you’re slicing through enemies with razor-sharp crystal attacks or leaving behind toxic pools of chaos, this Tem line is all about holding the line and punishing overreach. Let’s break down what they bring to the battlefield.

Crystal Techniques

• Glass Blade: A sharp horizontal strike—quick and clean.
  
• Quartz Shield: A protective barrier that turns taking damage into a boost in armor.
  
• Crystal Spikes: Random AoE burst to zone or punish clusters.
  
• Mineral Hail: Rains down pain over a wide area. Great for crowd control.

Toxic Techniques

• Toxic Waste: Leaves behind a trail of gooey poison. Great for kiting.
  
• Toxic Ink: Splat attack that sticks and poisons.
  
• Pollution: A toxic breath attack that poisons in an arc and can be manually aimed.
  
• Noxious Bomb: Drops heavy, explodes hard. Satisfying and effective.
  
• Venom Spread: If your target is already poisoned, this projectile detonates for AoE chaos.

Crystle’s ultimate technique is absolutely terrifying. It plants a massive crystalline garden across the battlefield. Any enemies caught in the crystal bloom are Doomed, literally. They’ve got a timer on their heads, and when it hits zero, it’s game over. And here’s the kicker: Crystle heals for each enemy taken out by the Doom. It’s the gift that keeps on giving (and decimating the Swarm).

Whether you’re queuing up with friends or fighting the swarm solo, Crystle’s line is a great backbone for any team. Early on, Crystle helps you survive tight corners. Midgame, Sherald adds tactical depth and zoning potential. And when you finally evolve into Tortenite? You become a walking win condition. Pair them with fast poisoners or support Tems who can buff or heal, and you’ve got a squad that just won’t quit.

Hello, Tamers!

How's the swarm-decimating going? We hope you've been enjoying patch 0.6, Zephyruff, Kinu and Omninesia! While we simmer in all the recent additions and improvements, let's place our eyes on the future for a moment, shall we? 

Although we're still hard at work correcting issues and pushing out fixes on 0.6.4, we never stop working on the next step in Temtem: Swarm! You might still remember the first instance of our living roadmap, which we shared close to our launch. This time, and with the first big content update live for all of you to play and enjoy, we're ready to show you the updated version of the roadmap!

It covers some of the more substantial changes coming in the next big content update, 0.7! Please be aware that, while we're posting it  and it is totally official, everything here is still subject to change, be replaced or be rescheduled. 

If you're familiar with us and our future plans, you know we don't include any sort of dates, and we try to keep things open to possible changes. We're all too familiar with wanting to include a super neat idea halfway in, and we also know issues can arise in the dev process, be it technical or human. But if you're familiar with our vibes, you know there'll be many spoilers as the time gets closer! For now, what do you think about the title of patch 0.7?


It seems like things are heating up around here! What Arena do you think we'll unveil in this patch, and which Temtem will be its main character? Let us know your guesses in the comments! Of course, we're also adding new Techniques, Synergies and Gears, but that's not all! We're working hard on some community-requested features (you can spot them thanks to the little 👥 icon!) like clarity improvements to matchmaking, reworks to some Synergies that aren't feeling all that bopping right now, and one of the biggest issues our players face nowadays: the RNG in the perk pools.

But we've been doing work on our side too, and we're developing the first step in the Challenge Modes, with more modes and improvements added in further patches, as well as a totally new ping system to help you play co-op more cooperatively, flashy new cinematics for pivotal moments in the run, and new Kudos and achievements!

Remember Temtem: Swarm is still in Early Access, and as such, open to your feedback and suggestions! Please let us know in our Discord server,[discord.gg] although please search around first to see if someone has proposed the same thing. We do our best to read everything, even though we cannot reply to the majority of it, and it helps us shape Temtem: Swarm into a fantastic game. Thank you for your energy and help!

Temtem Up!

Patch 0.6 launched at the start of the month, and we can now safely talk about it without spoiling anybody! Get ready to know more about Kinu, the forest protector that will keep you and your team safe and sound!


Kinu’s playstyle is all about helping others around it, and itself, by keeping the Swarm controlled and under wraps and the health bars topped up. Albeit squishy, every time it revives it becomes more durable by increasing its Max HP, so you can be a bit daring even despite its fragility.

With Kinu’s introduction into the game, that also brought a slew of Nature techniques, so let’s dive into those:

Resin Trap
A gooey nightmare for enemies where Kinu scatters resin that deals damage and locks the swarm in place, making them an easier target for Kinu and its allies. Not the kind of sticky situation they were hoping for!
Roots
A tangle of trouble! These creeping roots slow down enemies and deal constant damage. Kinu’s way of saying, “Take it easy... or else.”
Revitalize
Kinu’s signature support move! A healing zone that restores health to both Kinu and any allies inside. Because teamwork makes the dream work. Don’t miss out on its powerful synergy that knocks enemies out of the healing area, giving you and your teammates some respite.
Sharp Leaf
When healing isn’t enough, Kinu hurls a razor-sharp leaf at enemies. Remember, never underestimate the dangers of Nature!
Being a dual type Tem, Kinu has access to techniques from the Mental side of things. So, it can also be a pure powerhouse of damage using techniques like Ignis Fatuus and Psy Wave.

The ultimate gamble, and the move that really drives Kinu’s playstyle home, Vital Power! Kinu sacrifices most of its own health, dropping to 15%, but in return, it unleashes a devastating blast that hits everything in sight. Risky? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely. Plan carefully, as with great power comes great responsibility.
We hope we piqued your interest towards this particular forest guardian and its tremendous value against the Swarm! This is all we’re sharing about Kinu today, but we definitely encourage you to take Nature into your own hands by choosing Kinu in your next Temtem: Swarm match. • 👥We have increased the total number of Blocks and Rerolls you can have through the Skill Tree.
  
  • We've added one more level to these two Nodes, meaning you can now get one more Block and one more Reroll per match if you level these nodes up.
  • We plan to keep increasing Blocks and Rerolls in the future as we continue adding new content to the game, so finding the right pieces for your build doesn't get harder with more content.
  • We're aware of the concerns surrounding the diluting of the pool as we add, and players unlock, new perks. We've got a couple of improvements for it that will be included in patch 0.7, but in the meantime we believe increasing Blocks and Rerolls definitely helps.
• 👥You can now select if you want to create a public or private lobby right from the Lobby creation screen.
  
  • You will still be able to change the nature of the lobby using the checkbox, but this should give you even more control when creating lobbies.

• We've added a new setting option: Show player HUD
  
  • You can turn it on and off from the Settings menu.
• We've added a new setting option: Show game status HUD
  
  • You can turn it on and off from the Settings menu.

 

• 👥We've added varying percentages of armor to Eggs:
  
  • This will make the Egg more resistant and durable across all maps, but the Eggs will have different armor percentages depending on the map.
  • Harder maps or maps that are completed later down the row will have a more protected and resistant Eggs to combat the increase in difficulty.
• We've adjusted the way the Pansuns and exp magnets work:
  
  • Instead of pulling in all the pieces scattered across the map onto your character all at once, we've now set a speed for pieces that will take into account how far from you they are.
  • This way you will first receive the ones closer to you, and so on, as in a scale.
• We've adjusted the description of Traits and Ultimate Techniques so it shows a dynamic number calculated taking into account the upgrades on the Skill Tree
• We've adjusted the way upgrades to Techs and Gears appear when you receive them from a reward chest.
  
  • It will no longer show the description for said Gear or Tech.
  • Instead, it'll display only the stat changes that are taking place with the upgrade.

• We've adjusted the speed at which your Temtem stops after picking up a Glitch so it's more immediate.
• We've placed the marker for your co-op parners at the front of the markers so it can never be covered by any other marker.
• We've removed the block and reroll option once your build is completed and you start getting offered fruit and Pansuns.
• We've slightly delayed the appearance of the UIs for level up and reward chests until all the visual effects for Techniques or Spots have been completed.
• We've adjusted some world elements where players could get stuck.
• We've included the Steam Timeline feature in the game so you can easily find, save and share specific gameplay moments.
  
  • The Steam timeline generates markers as relevant in-game events happen, including Steam achievements and screenshots!

• We've added sound effects to Survivor's Burst!
• We've added sound effects to failing a Capture spot.

 

• We've added maximum limits to some Stats:
  
  • Max HP 9999
  • Speed 25
  • Critical Probability 100
    
    • To clarify, this cap will never affect permanent upgrades, like Gears or Skill Tree increases.
    • It will only ever act when a player concatenates a series of temporal effects (like the speed boost from Gotta Go Fast!).
    • We've put these in place to prevent bugs and issues, but it won't require anything from players and you can play normally!
• 👥We have reduced the time required to complete a Capture Spot from <del>5</del> to 3 minutes.
  
  • Following your feedback on how complicated the Spot was with the 5 minute mark, and given it's a really important Spot that we want everyone to be able to complete, we've lowered the time requirement for it.
• We've added distance and duration modifiers to Art Restoration based on the amount of players in the group.
  
  • The more players, the farther the pieces will go, and the less time you'll have to pick them up
  • We wanted to add a little extra challenge to this Spot in co-op, as it was too easy in its previous state.
• We've made adjustments to Gotta Go Fast! to make sure the rings always prioritize appearing in walking distance of the previous ring, avoiding structures and collisions.
  
  • If no suitable place is found on the first pass, the game will soften the requirements, .
  • Even if the ring ends up appearing in the same place as the one before, we want to make sure all players can complete this Spot.
• We've made the Hazrat in Catch the Rat immune to status conditions, like powerful Tems or Bosses are.
• We've slightly adjusted the prices of the Reroll and Block nodes, with the idea that we keep scaling it as more Rerolls and Blocks are added in the future.

  • We've fixed a bug that greatly affected Glass Blade's power, since it could only hit one enemy. Upon fixing it, however, we noticed the Tech was too strong, so we've adjusted it across all levels.
  • Fire Rate at Level 1 has been decreased 0.5 ➜ 0.4.
  • Cooldown at Level 1 has been increased 1.8 ➜ 2.
  • Fire Rate at Level 2 has been decreased 0.5 ➜ 0.4.
  • Cooldown at Level 2 has been increased 1.8 ➜ 2.
  • Fire Rate at Level 3 has been decreased 0.5 ➜ 0.4.
  • Cooldown at Level 3 has been increased 1.5 ➜ 2.
  • Area at Level 3 has been decreased +20% ➜ +15%.

• 👥Fixed that old saves could not get the Technique Roots.
• Fixed that guests in the co-op match would become unable to level up or interact with pick-ups if the host fainted during a Summoning Circle Spot.
• 👥Fixed Glass Blade not hitting multiple enemies if they stepped into the range; now it will hit all enemies it collides with, albeit only once.
• 👥Fixed two Nodes on Crystle's Skill Tree that should've been accessible now and are still showing the Coming Soon message.

• 👥Fixed a weird case where our Tem would evolve twice and be invulnerable if they leveled up twice after failing a Spot and reviving.
• 👥Fixed not receiving upgrades on the right situations for the Dash Blow Gear.
• Fixed being able to hit the ball in Floor is lava in Ghost mode.
• Fixed that Powerful Lapinite were not showing the right running animation.
