-If I know someone is screwing around in the woods I will typically napalm is, wait, then send in spec ops to hold it backed up by a bit of normal infantry. They usually do the trick. I would also have some vehicles with line of site of the edge of the forst line just in case those units become visible, but not so close that they will get blown up. Use recce.
-Usually you have a dedicated support guy on your team who should be countering the enemy arty. For jets, I always buy my own anti air vehicles and infantry and place them randomly throughout. If your vehicles are radar based, hotkey them and turn their weapons off (H). If you see a normal jet flying towards you, turn them on...if you see a SEAD coming, keep them off until they are evacing or passing you, then back off.
-Infantry are usually your baseline unit that you will use to hold stuff. That being said, if you're in a city, have them one city block in, in so the enemy cannot see and shoot them with tanks. If you have guys in the forest, maybe turn your weapons off until a tank gets really close, then turn them on and own them. Remember that your APCs aren't strong...they will blow up very easily meaning you instantly lose 10 guys, so if you get under fire move fast to cover or disembark and find cover. Keep your infantry out of large flat open spaces because that is where they are most vulnerable and useless. They are best for forest and city fighting. I usually will start with one squad of spec ops, 2 squads of 20 normal inf, 2 squads of anti air, and 2 squads of anti armour. I dont typically buy groups of 4 unless I am trying to push as much stuff as possible at the enemy.
-I usually send in SEAD first. If there is nothing then send in bombers. If there is something then only send a bomber if you are desperate.
Remember that each unit costs points. Don't just send stuff to die ever. Try to get your points back with each unit and keep all your forces backed up (if you have a tank maybe you should also have a squad of anti air guys near, or anti armour). USE RECCE, it is so damn helpful. USE MORTORS, they are so awesome and annoying to the enemy.
Second, Recon infantry behind enemy lines (more or less enemy base) in tandem with Ground attack planes and exetremely powerful AND accurate howitzers work well for countering arty attacks.
Thrid, Infantry units work well alone, but work best with support units (Gunship Helicopters, Fire Support vehicles, medium price Tanks, and accurate MANPADs, or some sort of reliable air defense unit).
Fourth, I find that using cheap air superiority planes (MiG-23 ML, F-4J Phantom II) in tandem with expensive air superiority planes (SU-27 PU, F-15C), SEAD planes (SU-24, F-4G Wild Weasel V), and dedicated ground attack planes (SU-25T, A-10A) should allow you to have a flexible air force. You can also swap the cheap ASF planes for bombers too if you feel the cheap ASFs aren't your thing (SU-24M, F-111F).
Make sure to send the SEAD first, if it's being repaired/not bought yet, I sugguest waiting unless you know for certain the enemy has no/inaccurate light amounts of AA units. Enemy jets require you to escort your own so it's best to use expensive ASFs to counter the enemy ASFs. Ground attack planes help with defending armor unit assaults. They also work well attacking AA units that are seen by SEAD planes suprisingly. The Cheap ASFs make good interceptors and meat shields for your expensive planes. Bombers are self explanatory to me, but if it's not obvious, just use them for stacked, clustered, or expensive/important units.
Finally, I learned alot of tactics by watching teammates and enemies in the replays as well as asking the community questions. For example, you can fly planes out on the borders of the map (Dark, sunken part of the map, looks like you can see the ground underneath) and avoid most of the enemies defenses to attack vulnearable targets.
I hope this helped you out, if you need any more questions, feel free to add me and ask anything! Anything at all. and one more thing, Recon is very important.
