THe d6 and the blue baby

I just got the blue baby and i can't defeat isaac i had this grand plan of defeating isaac with ??? and getting the d6 and kill satan with isaac which gives me mom's knife!!! but it is all screwed cuz blue baby is sh** got any tips|? I will hold R till i get a good item if that is the easiest way HELP!!

Wdym? blue baby is good. no matter how hard you get hit you wont lost chances of reaching devil or angel room. who needs red heart anyway except tmag.

Repentance has cut down significantly on most sources of soul hearts, so Blue Baby now actually feels like the challenge character he was always supposed to be.

Angel meta is boring and unhelpful, unless you're going for Mega Satan you should always visit the first devil room.

As for ???, there aren't any tips aside from "don't get hit". The character doesn't really have any complex mechanics. However, as general advice for all characters, buy soulhearts from shops, it's extremely helpful.

Angel meta is extremely helpful since you don't have to pay 3 entire soul hearts to get a mediocre item like lil' brimstone. You can instead get worse items like lil' delirium for *free*
In all seriousness though angel rooms have a good chance of giving you soul or eternal hearts and the items they give you are always free. The pool is also much smaller so good items are more likely to show up. On the contrary the items you'd want from the devil item are a much smaller percentage of the pool (I quickly went through the pool and found roughly 24 items that are almost always worth taking in either pool, only devil room pool is bigger).

Okay, but who wants to wait 4 floors to get something powerful? 3 soul hearts is nothing and devil deals can rarely contain health too. Dunno why you only find 24 devil items useful, I counted about 40.

I'm not saying only 24 of them are useful, I'm saying around that many are a must-take in most situations. More of them are good if you're playing a character with red hearts but blue baby gets super close to no health if you take early deals, unless you're so lucky that you get stuff like the pact, the mark, ceremonial robes, abaddon etc. on the second floor. An early 9 lives could also be good since you can sacrifice a life to get a free item if you have health laying around on the floor before you leave.
Of course stuff like mom's knife and brimstone are game-winning but most new players find it hard to not get hit, so it might not be worth it giving away 3 out of 4 hearts to get one of them.

Devil pool is just too large and diluted with subpar items or straight up have hp/beggars/red chests/krampus inside (can be even worse in Greed mode). Only worth going for as Lost/tLost/tJacob or if you have Hourglass
