I hate the hush time limit

It's so RNG based. You can usually salvage a bad RNG run by abusing arcades, finding secret rooms, etc. Against the 30 minute limit, nope! It's be granted something crazy by the RNG in the first couple of levels or reset. It feels so obnoxiously luck based. I'd rather try to play out most runs to see if anything good happens, but with the Hush if you haven't gotten something stupid OP by the second floor it's time to R key and I really don't find it fun at all.

It's especially annoying when you have a character at the Womb and it's like minute 32. Great, what the hell am I gonna do with this run now? Gah.

You could get the Strange Key trinket to just bypass the time limit

I think Mama Mega opens it too but I don't know if they removed that

The strange key is unlocked via a tainted character, which means you have to have already killed the Hush a bunch of times.

I've been going for Mama Mega too but that's just another brutal RNG check. You need a shop with a restock once you have a pile of coins. That's not easy to find, especially since the game looooooves to put Greed and Super Greed in the last two available shops.

Not really a "bunch," only three times. Just pick the character you think will get you there easiest and grind until you do that, then only ever worry about the rng when you feel like going through the pain of hoping for the strange key, mama mega, or a game break for either.

if you really really really hate it, i guess you can always get a mod that removes the time limit. this is a single player game. no one is going to blame you for 'cheating'. tho doing it this way would be somewhat less satisfying.

Well yeah but if all you have left is Hush unlocks then you did something wrong. Do them when the opportunity presents itself.

You still get achievements since I assume you beat mom. That's the best course of action IMO since you and plenty of other people agree that it's not a fun mechanic. Don't let anyone else tell you otherwise.

Getting the Strange Key is definitely not rng

Boss Rush & Hush are the hardest unlocks, so you should prioritize them when clearing characters. If a run starts off strong, go for them. If not, do something else. Not skipping the first devil deal is a great tip for all runs, but its importance is multiplied tenfold when time is of essence.
