It's weird, but I actually get excited about taking damage, like - What am I going to become now? Sometimes I end up with a combination of items I've never had before, which is cool. And if I end up with a miserable build, I just walk into an enemy.
Once I get all the achieves, I'm definitely going back to T. Eden for fun runs, just to see what happens. But if that's not your cuppa tea, I totally understand.
I can understand that. For me, the novelty was a flash in the pan. I had my laughs for the first half of my checkmark hunt, but now with everything got, the gimmick wore out real bad along the way. I can definitely see myself enjoying him more now that I've completed his marks and don't have to worry about "Will I be able to kill Hush/Delirium with this?". Even then though, I'll probably only ever tolerate him when random picked. I just need that number-crunching, secret-combing, min/maxing experience from Isaac. It's why T. Isaac is my favorite character in the game, because you really need to consider every decision made with him. For that dopamine-rush character, I think I'll be sticking with T. Keeper.
The funny part is that, now coming back here after having finally done it myself, I'd like to relay my "winning strategy", but there really wasn't one. I had 3 separate shots against Delirium today with T. Eden and I couldn't tell you what I did differently from the first two times other than "I got a lucky Godhead + Contact Lens". Literally the only thing I could say is that never miss a single opportunity to get items. If there's a shop not cleaned out, a beggar still begging and a blood donor still standing, you gotta try your best to squeeze each of those dry. As long as you attain a big enough horde of items, the game is literally incapable of sufficiently ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you over, especially if those items came from just about every pool. The only pool I'd say you should stay clear from is Devil, Curse and Dark Beggars. Other than that, I just wish you the best of luck.

I really could use some luck right about now, so getting tired of this crap...
btw, hate the fact that TMTRAINER affects story items.
Edit: 1.7.5 update, second fix on the list
Active items make a huge difference, so it's better to take one from the Curse room or the Shop and go to alt. path to avoid picking up new active items from the treasure room.
Curse room has a lot of great items, both active and passive – Guppy's Paw alone is incredible as you can convert the heart containers you get from rerolls into permanent soul hearts.
The Shop has a huge variety of active items you can't never go wrong with. One of them is Alabaster Box, which is, apparently, bugged to have a full charge if you reroll into it. Don't pick a passive item, though, since The Chaos would very likely mess things up.
Items from the Angel Room are generally much better than the Devil Room's, especially since you can get Holy Mantle. The active items suck, though.
Secret Room can be a hit or miss, depending on what you've unlocked already.
you can get around this by dropping the card, including doing so at the start of the Mom fight
Overall T.Eden is like an ultimate roguelike character - you need to make the best of what you are given at every re-roll. Besides, latest major patch improved him greatly by not re-rolling on self-damage and revival items working properly.
