Questions for some tainted characters

1. How the HELL do I keep the little clots alive long enough for Tainted Eve to take on any end game boss? I swear, they die faster than I can make them.

2. What are the best items for Tainted Cain to make? I remember that one item got patched so he has to collect Soul Hearts to power it up.

Tainted Eve - You aren't supposed to leave the clots out. The entire purpose of the clots are a downside as you constantly lose health. You need to constantly reabsorb them before they get hit during boss fights. (btw they all copy your tears so if you have lead pencil each one of the clots will have it's own lead pencil making massive damage.. unless you have combos like that just play her like isaac for final bosses)

Tainted cain - honestly you can just run through and suck up everything and get random items and end up fine. On the Platinum God website there is a bag of crafting list where you can input your own combos and search for items based on name/what you find..

It's hard to answer this question as it depends on what you get.

for cain i'd recommend birthright, then any rock bottom build, simplest being red stew and soy milk

I've always just constantly made a massive army with tainted Eve. Once you hit a certain point you can delete rooms so quickly that the clots never die and you can continue snowballing and making a larger army. Then once you've hit a point where you're breezing through every room you can just save up all that red health and only make clots if there are hearts that would go to waste on the ground. This character is all about snowballing and getting momentum going. If you're constantly sucking up clots then you're never going to be able to amass an army.

When it comes to late game bosses it can be a little rough. This is why creating a large army and also banking that red health is important. Saving a sun card or full health pill for hush or the other late game bosses lets you amass 1-2 extra groups of clots if they do manage to die to a projectile pattern that isn't very dodgable. The only time I would really use the sumptorium is if you know a pattern will destroy a lot of clots. But never use it if the amount of clots you suck up will surpass the amount of red health you have otherwise those extra clots you made will just go to waste outside of the one free clot you get for over healing. You can also just suck up the clots by running into a corner of the screen in certain situations to body block them.

I did lose a run to mega Satan one time. But other than that the character is so insanely powerful that you really should be able to steam roll the run once you get that initial momentum. She is definitely rough on the first couple floors if you get very few red hearts. But there are a ton of items that are super insane on the character like holy shot since it can activate on every single clot.

I don't have Red Stew sadly. And considering how much I HATE playing Jacob & Esau, I don't think I'll get that anytime soon.

I gave some explanation how that works above. Typically very bad idea as you can delete a massive amount of clots using sumptorium wasting a ton of time and resources.

You get 3 seconds where making clots doesn't cost health... which takes 2.5 seconds, so it takes extremely good timing to make that plural.

For the first question, just accept that you're gonna lose some, and seek strength in numbers.

As for 2, the D20 should be first on your priority list. It's extremely easy to craft and you can use the Bombs you'll get from item pedestals to bomb the Donation Machine several times and reroll the resulting pennies for lots of pickups.

Then, get Sharp Plug, so you can convert the health pickups you get into charge for the D20 and keep repeating its rerolls to create whatever you need.

From there you want to try and segway into making Mom's Key, because the D20 will produce chests that Mom's Key will dramatically enhance for massive pickup generation.

You can also consider getting Birthright along the way for momentum, as it increases pickup yield from pedestal items. More pickup generation items like Fanny Pack, Piggy Bank, etc are definitely advisable.

And now, you can make your build into genuinely anything you want as long as you have enough time on your hands. I like crafting Candy Heart at this point, so while I'm gamebreaking I'm ALSO passively getting random stat boosts without having to think about it.


While you're doing this though, two words of warning;

-Craft an explosion immunity item or, preferably, search the trinket pool with Mom's Box for Safety Scissors. This stops troll bombs from damaging you and, in safety scissors' case, stops golden troll bombs from being a nuisance.

-Avoid ANYTHING that could potentially give you a pickup absorbing effect, magnet effect, etc. This includes Soul of Lilith, Cambion Conception, etc. You'll want your pickups static, not going anywhere. If you screw up and get a Dark Bum stealing all your hard earned hearts, start crafting Sacrificial Altars until you kill the bastard.

I was fortunate that the alabaster box cheese got patched out while I was in the middle of my final tainted cain unlock. Pretty tedious character to do if you don't wanna sit there making items for hours and learning the optimal way of doing it.

I can agree. I am interested with his unlocks, so I will learn how to play him sooner or later.
