The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

Buff for Luck stat
I don't know about you guys, but I think luck needs some love. It often feels like a dump stat for me, because of the following reasons:

- to many items that have a chance to trigger but are not affected by luck
- luck-affected items very often need 20+ luck to give it a 50% or 100% trigger chance.
- Many effects aren't that useful, so you can mostly ignore them

My suggestion is to make luck also influence items which have a chance, but are currently not influenced by luck. Example: Large Zit. It has a chance to fire a creep shot, but has a fixed chance. Why not let it increase by luck? It would make many more items much more interesting if they would be affected.

I wish donation machines were more reliable for increasing luck, maybe not jamming after getting all the unlocks.
Or just not jamming period, who in the dev team actually cares if you get it filled in one run?

items that increase lucks need to be buffed by 3 or 4 times. Most luck items only give 1 luck which is negligible, they should give 3 or 4. or maybe even 5. since most luck effects only become noticeable when you have 14+ luck.
and more items, and mechanics definitely need to scale off of luck. golden trinkets for example should scale off luck instead of flat 2%

There's a trinket you get for not taking damage on 3 floors that gives you 10 luck. You lose it once you get hit.

Well edmin is obsessed with forcing people to finish donations normally hence the glowing hour glass changes in AB+ to prevent finishing them in one run.

However there is no excuse for them still jamming once you have already completed them.

I don't think that's needed. There are some ways to improve luck. By items, pills, lucky coins. I had runs with 20+ luck, so it's not impossible. But some luck based items should be rebalanced, so that luck effects them more. And like I said, many other chance-items don't even get influenced by luck, which I don't understand. I also have the feeling the luck lets break slot/donation machines much faster, which is most of the time NOT wanted, or at least it should result in the wanted jackpot item (like 99$ or blood bag).

Right now, if I get a luck down pill, I'm happy about it, since I don't care at all. It's really rare I had builds were luck was a real benefit.

I thought the cap was 10 luck, and any more was useless?

wut ... 20+ luck? my highest was 13 ... and that only because i managed to achieve a perfection drop.... which i inmediatly lost in the next floor ... but srsly 20+ ... how the heck? RNG must really love you ö_ö.

btw. someone said that the donate thingys jamming more likely the more you donate to them with the same character. so, gotta play with someone else and not only with your beloved favorite character x3

10 luck is only the maximum for the chance of room clear rewards.

Some items with a random chance of working have different luck amounts that max out their chances (not necessarily for a 100% chance.)

No, that’s what happens with the greed machine in Greed Mode.

I've managed it a few times by accident as characters like Tainted Eve who can put up a wall against most attacks.

the trinket is called Perfection and its not for the entire floor. its only for the boss rooms. get 3 times no damage in a row in boss rooms and Perfection will drop. tho you will lose the trinket as soon you get hit tho. so you probably wont have the joy for long xD it gives you +10 luck

well when I had 10 luck and either ghost pepper or birds eye not sure, it'd proc the fire often but not all the time but then I got a few more luck and it'd proc 100% of the time and I became a flame thrower :D
and other powerful effects like euthanasia still only proc sometimes at 10 luck.
getting a few points above 10 is when things start to proc almost guaranteed from my experience at least.
but getting above 10 isn't really feasible without perfection, and perfection isn't really gonna happen unless you're one of a couple specific characters. so most the time luck ends up a stat that is barely noticeable or meaningful, because it almost never gets high enough to do the good stuff.

yeah, luck definitely should apply to more items. But I still think luck needs to be able to get high more frequently, or at least make luck effects scale with luck at a much higher rate so that the +1 luck items actually make a tangible impact

Well, with the rune of jera or D1 and you duplicate items on the ground. Ever found a luck coin or a luck-up-pill on the ground and had the D1? You can quite easily get 3-6 luck on one floor with the D1. And the items do the rest. So yeah, it's possible, but not to often.

About the donation machine: The one from greed gets stuck sooner the more you play your favorite character. The others shouldn't be affected.
