The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

Camera - The biggest enemy in multiplayer Isaac
The camera in big rooms. I've tried active camera and default camera, in both cases I don't really see a difference. I could go to length in describing the scenario, but I think large rooms and camera are pointers enough that there is no need to pinpoint individual scenarios.

Makes me wonder two things:
- where can I write feedback / requests features with a chance of devs reading it

- Would it be possible to have a 3rd camera option called: zoom out?

I really don't care if the trade-off is to be a small pixel shooting smaller pixels, I just want to be able to see where ♥♥♥♥ -well ♥♥♥♥ is standing still... mostly- and other monsters are.

Not even talking about a adaptive zoom which zooms back in when you get closer. Just talking about a static zoomed out perspective for big rooms.

If someone wants that as well, let's push visibility with this steam award system. I think the cheapest award is sufficient to push the visibility counter up

You can make the camera zoom out by going to Documents\My Games\Binding of Isaac Repentance\options.ini and changing MaxScale to something much lower.

I had this issue playing Greed Mode yesterday. I'm so afraid to move up or down the room in fear of running straight into a bullet that I wasn't able to react to in time. I do wish the camera zoomed out (even just a tiny bit) when you're in a big room. Would save a lot of anxiety lol.

Hey I know what you're talking about, I've run into that camera before.

Honestly, I usually just bomb the nearest door (that I didn't just come thru, unless camera is in a dead end room) and hope I can make it out in time. The camera really is the biggest enemy in the game, though, so I seldom make it out in time.

I thought zooming out wasn't possible which is why The witness in the dlc isn't zoomed out like in the mod, and Edmund also said he liked it being zoomed out and wished it could be like that in the official game

If the mod of the game can zoom out, then obviously it's possible. Just a question of how difficult is it to implement without creating more bugs (do tears hit where they are on screen etc.) along the way.

I gonna take a look! That sounds interesting, but sadly it would affect all rooms, not only the big ones.

the thing is, it wasn't just a simple mod. rebirth is a very different game to afterbirth+ and repentance. There's a reason antibirth wouldn't have been ported to afterbirth+ if it wasn't for repentance.

There's literally a setting in the options.ini file that has a similar effect to zooming out(MaxScale). He just has to make it accessible from the options menu.

That would be a wonderful start!!
+ it would not be counted as mod and disable unlocks & achievements.

Now get a camera setting in which applies a higher "MaxScale" on big rooms and we're golden (and can't blame camera anymore on our abysmal skills :D )

That idea sounds wonderful, as the menus with MaxScale on 2 look really... erm, interesting. It could solve a lot of issues, and they already have the foundation set. They just have to make it an option in game.

then may I ask you kindly for your support and putting an award on this post? I think it will help keeping this afloat and not drown in all the forum posts. <3

Awards don't actually make a post more likely to get attention, commenting on it does. You could thereotically review this post every time by just stating something here and posting it, as the forum is based on activity. It's how you can see posts from 2014 pop up in the forums after one person comments on them.

After the release of Repentance, the fanbase went full Doom Eternal so be careful out there haha. Some people despise the DLC while others worship it as a deity and the hostility from both sides is rather brutal. Keep yourself safe in the discussions.
