How is the new co-op?

And how does the game handle a player dying? There a way to revive a dead player, or are they stuck watching you for the rest of the run?

It's broken. You both can get infinite items if both of you take one item each and re-enter the room according to Hutts

Co-op is fun until one of you dies. Then it is tedious and kinda trash. You do no damage, you have to share items you find (except boss items where you get two). You respawn after killing the boss at... half a heart; making it so that you may very easily die again. I'd rather have the old co-op where you inherited items and had to rejoin if you died.

It still exists. Player 2 just has to join after the starting room.

You are right it does. That will be my preferred co-op of choice from this point unless something changes. New co-op just seems pretty bad unless you get a god run.

The new coop is really great, imho. Dead players revive at the next floor.

Outside of issues the camera and potentially lag issues with the Remote Hosting, I would say it's pretty fun. Makes the game a lot easier since if one of the players die the run will keep going and if the surviving players beats a boss then the dead player will be revived. Getting two boss items but only 1 treasure room items will mean 1 player will be slightly ahead but if you balance who gets what items it shouldn't be a problem.
