No strategy available. You will be hit one day or another so you can't avoid the reroll.

Just search for angel room or planetariums items : the rerolled items will be from the same item pool. There is generally good items in these 2 pools.
Avoid Devil deal and curse room items : dead cat can be inside the rerolled items and you will end up being very low on red hearts for the future reroll

Try to go in shops for birthright (lock your current set of items so if you have good items, you can "fix" them fore the rest of the run, however, every items after birthright will still be rerolled if you get hit)

Find a lot of items (quantity over quality)

No more things to say, this character is random af so you can't rely on a strategy or specific items

Do devil deals, play him like eve, next hit you will "reroll" all item-dependant red hearts so if you wont really "lose" red health, also try to have a trinket and pill/card for rerolling you could just reroll into a moon? card or something really good, also your active item rerolls based on item pool too, a shop active item can reroll into alabaster box or something else good, a curse or devil room active also are good, they can reroll into guppy's paw which turns item-dependant red health into free soul hearts, if your lucky you can basically become immortal. Also active items keep the charge on a reroll so a fully charged compost will reroll into a fully charged alabaster box for free.

He is very dependant on the items, trinkets and cards you have unlocked.

If you ever see birthright make sure you got something really good before picking it up

Just hoard as many items as you can. And pray. And do not get hit too often.

Play Angel Rooms and Sac Rooms to get lots of Angel Items. Once you have 4 or so angel items, get hit in an IV machine/Devil Beggar/Confessionary until you reroll into something that is both good and also has Holy Mantle.

It is perfectly viable to not get hit again once you have Holy Mantle.

So apparently it's not that hard, I just accumulated items (went for angel deals) and manage to beat Mother on my second run, first ended on mines 1.
I got rerolled on half a soul heart but she was on very low health

Do NOT do devil deals. You have a high chance to reroll into 9 lives or a curse item. Rolling into 9 lives any where after the mom fight is pretty much a death sentence unless you have a way to get more HP with is very unlikely since you just rerolled everything.

No, if you play with soul hearts mainly you minimise your reliance on red health, making dead cat not as devastating, you dont avoid rerolls you play with the rerolls as they offer strengths and plays other characters cant do.

9 lives overrides soul hearts if you have no red containers or items that give you red hp.
fromage_enrage Aug 31, 2021 @ 11:41am
> Go against Mother
> I have a good build with lots of soul hearts
> Gets hit
> Dead Cat, 1 HP
> Gets hit, dies because of Dead Cat but does not resurrect because Dead Cat got rerolled

10/10 would play Tainted Eden again.

No that only does that for soul heart only characters, tainted edens red hearts only get messed up by dead cat, thats why i recommend using devil deals to get rid of your "character-given" red health from things like eternal hearts and stuff.

Just thought I should mention there is a mod (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2505655794) that removes useless items like dead cat from T. Eden's item pool, if you don't mind using mods. It makes the character a lot more enjoyable imo.
