The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

Was there a final word on the stop button in Greed Mode giving less coins?
I recall there being a lot of discussion revolving around the stop button (spiked button in the middle of the room) giving you less coins if you use it. There was a lot of speculation with people claiming they did extensive testing and came up with both yes and no answers.

So, was there ever a definitive yes or no? On some of the later stages in Greedier, it's the only way I can make it through some of the waves with The Lost, and since the spike seems to deal no damage, it doesn't activate the Mantle upon use, so it's safe to use it during each wave.

I have always been given more coins not to use it, and about to spend it with the lost if you get tech x in the first one and then you go climbing from a short time the damage you will realize that it is easy, another way is to make a breaking run

Doesn't change the coins. Just does damage. Course not as the lost.

Yeah, I tried the first few stages just repeatedly spawning a wave then cancelling the wave and I ended up with 5 coins by the time I reached the boss wave. Normally I can reach at least 13 coins. When I would start the following wave, it would either give me no coins, or one.
