Is it just me or does Apollyon suck?

I have not yet found the void very usefull. His base damage is terrible. Isaac before unlocking the D6 feels better to play then Apollyon. Whats your guy's and girls opion on this dude.

If you see a passiveyou don't really need, absorb it using the Void.
Quickly, his stats won't be that awful anymore.

His base damage is the same a Isaac's. His stats are the exact same as Isaac, except he has 1 less heart container and has the Void instead of the D6.

Personally, I think he's just a worst Isaac. I'd rather reroll a bad item (especially a bad active) and get some really good passive than get some stat boost/get a bad active item on a 6 room charge. Using the Void as an active also leads me to possibly not being able to use it on some bad item for stats sometimes so. Plus, I still feel alright taking devil deals as Isaac while taking one as Apollyon makes me feel like a worse Judas.

But to each their own :P. I'm sure there are lots of people who really like playing Apollyon.

I think he's crap. At least more playable than Keeper, but his gimmick is not very interesting to me, and when I'm playing for fun (as opposed to unlocks) I'd rather play around with Isaac or Cain or Judas.

Apollyon is good when you've gotten quite a bit of Isaac experience, which makes me wonder why he wasn't a late-game unlock.

He is in the Switch version actually, you have to beat Mega Satan to unlock him. :P

I like Apollyon as it is easy to get high status by just absorbing almost every item I come across. The only downside is having one less health point.

I know that, but in the PC version, he's unlocked by default with Void. That's an actively bad spacebar item for newbies.
