Instead, do it like in COD MW.
Operators can have special animations and skins, but abilities, equipment and armor should be optional.
Just like in COD, gloves, boots and 1 or 2 special equipment.

Yes but you're missing the point, the operator system in this game is similiar to the BF2042's during launch. Basically, one operator had their unique gadget, etc.
In CoD, operators are literally just characters to choose from and it doesn't affect gameplay, unless you count that Groot looking skin as an advantage for blending with the environment.
