Like at Valheim. That game hit 1 million players and still has 50k people at peak and when that first came out had no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ content.
Open beta will have all the changes the community is requesting like no bots, anti-cheat, spawn fixes, etc etc. Yes it looks like BF2042 but tbh it's free to play and has a campaign, conquest/rush multiplayer and a DMZ-type mode in one client. Everything that dice promised. If you remember battlefield Play4Free. That was a sick free to play battlefield game and this game reminds me of the potential that had
You either become one or find single player experiences offline. That is your options. Well there is a 3rd and thats finding as much cheese in these games and trolling sweats. Nothing better than making a try hard cry hard.
On top of that there might be a heavy portion of SBMM, either way, 10 matches into the game youre now getting instantkilled in just about any situation. The whole war feeling trade blows situations are 100% gone now, and youre more dead than alive.
Im thinking we have more players than bots now, I didnt realize that I was fighting bots for the longest time, the addition of other (sweaty) players REALLY illustrates that the balance on the guns is really horrible.
So im suggesting anyone whos playing this right now to wait with the questionaries till you have played alot more games, cause it will shift heavily, which is both incredibly suspicious and a damn pity.
Extraction mode is/will be clearly P2W. I also suffered many one headshot deaths through very small view angles and in a very small time window, I do not think it is possible, there must be cheat or some kind of assistance, it is unreal. Mostly happened in Hazard Mode(extraction mode), which becomes more frustrating as you lose everything.
Hazard mode has ridiculous requirements for stash or basic container upgrades, there comes in P2W and some stronger armour is very expansive but you can use your wallet, which is unlucky.
Extraction Mode is 4/10 from me.
I would play for fun, never spend a dime on this!
The positive opinions I've seen/heard are purely from the usual new game high, probably from people getting fatigue from other shooters. Play 5 rounds to soak it in and see that it is painfully mediocre.
All that has been released is a playtest. I would wait until the full game is released before you pass judgement on whether or not it has attributes and features of the older games.
Rush sucks, too chaotic, should have given teams more control and slow things down a bit. Things so fast that medics and teammates have no incentive to heal because it is better to shoot back.
But this mode sucked in Bf series as well. Don't understand those who plays it. It's like very bad Metro map, but people love it, which is sad, really.
Overall: 2.4/5.
- Gameplay (3/5): Shooting feels good but many guns have exaggerated recoil and it barely changes modding it. Modding a gun change the stats but most of the stats are duplicated and useless. So everyone is using the same few guns (AK-74, M4A1, Scar-H, GS-775).
There is also an auto-mark enemies when the dot of your camera comes across someone, so hiding is pretty useless.
Also, as a great point, you can modify your guns.
- Operators: (1/5): The skills are fun but are really unbalanced, such as the wallhack and AoE damage from the sniper and the ultimate of one of the engineer which basically make every enemy player be unable to deal damage in an area. They also come with their own grenades, so no customization.
Also, the available guns for each operator is pretty unbalanced. The recon class (sniper) has most of the guns of the game except the advanced ones.
- Maps (2/5): The maps are beautiful but are not wide at all. They consist of a large map with several routes which both teams have to go through, causing chocking points. Some defensive positions have even too many open areas to get shot through by enemies being far away from you.
The maps also have a lot of sniper-points.
- Gamemodes (3/5): Currently in the warfare mode we only have one gamemode: a team attacks two bases while the other team defends, and the attacker team loss tickets after dying. Currently it's a mess. In many bases the defenders have an overwhelming advantage while in other the attacker does.
Also what I talked before about the maps, there're constant chocking points in which you can only advance through dozens of players dying. Some routes are even impossible to get through.
This gamemode fun at the beginning but you get sick of it pretty fast.
- Vehicles (3/5): Every vehicle is customizable. The starting kit includes auto-repair which heals you around 20-30 HP and you can always turn it on and an useless smoke since auto-marking exists.
- Main-battle tank: A main ammo which deals a lot damage to vehicles but can't kill infantry in one-hit and a secondary which is a machine gun, good for infantry but isn't very accurate.
- Infantry Fighting Vehicle: The main ammo deals a little bit damage to vehicles and can't kill infantry in one hit but it's good against infantry because you can spam it. The secondary is a guided anti-tank projectile.
- Mechanized Anti-Air: The main ammo is an anti-air gun with low damage, low cadence, low bullet speed but it is accurate. I don't remember the second ammo, sorry.
- MRAP with a 20mm/30mm cannon: The 20mm/30mm cannon is good for infantry, although again, it doesn't kill anyone in one hit. It also does a little damage against vehicles. I don't remember the secondary.
- Attack Helicopter: Can't talk about this because the control sucks, so I always crashed at its spawn point.
I would say the vehicles are too strong, as they can auto-repair themselves, the active protection has a low cooldown and the thermal smoke can make it so no one can target you with guided anti-tank.
There're also spots in the map in which you can repair the tank and matching it with the auto-repair skill, you can get your tank from 20 HP to 100 HP very quickly.
You also need 4 hits to destroy a tank, 2 if it's from below. The max ammo for anti-tanks is 3, so you need more players hitting or find a place to get more ammo (although when you get more ammo, the tank will have healed itself and you'll have to start from 0 again).
The Battlefield kind of gamemode is like 7/10 to me, it has potential but its up to the devs to make use of that.
Sounddesign is a 3/10, software audio is garbage as usual, at best 16 audiochannels that get blocked by a single sniper shoot, causing footsteps to entirely vanish.
Hero abilities… ya well if nerfed to the ground to match 64 players ok… better without them.
UI is the common 2024 trash nobody wanted.
Submenues behind submenues hiding behind a submenue hidden in a submenue of that submenue from previous submenue.
Reminds me about Windows, same failure perfection.
Airplane controls are bad, animations need to step up alot, netcode is in bad shape, gunbalance isnt good…controls are laggy and unresponsive, spawnmenue is unprecise, slow and also unresponsive.
Lack of Killcam and various other things
Extraction gets a whopping total of 2/10, dont wanna deal with these menues at all and its too campy.
