Helicopter (Aircraft) Controls are weird
so helicopter controls are a bit weird it would be better to bind Left and Right moment and Forward and Backward movement of Aircraft with mouse movement -Y and Y, X and -X respectively.

yeah I completely agree. the helicopter is completely unusable in this game until they add an option to bind mouse left/right input to yaw rather than pitch (coming from using so-called "rifle aim" on Battlefield helis).

100% controls are so strange, now if we could use a controller just for vehicles and KB/M when you're on foot, I'd be excited

Completely agree. I used to play helicopter back in Battlefield, not to the point of being super good but I could manage.

I also used to play helicopters in mil simulators like Arma 3 and man, I can't believe I can more or less manage myself in a helicopter in Arma 3 but I can't barely drive one here.

To be honest, I don't even know what's the problem specifically. I would love for this game to have a training ground and tweak my helicopter controls until I get it right.

Agreed. First thing I tried to do was bind turn left/right to my mouse. I use rifle aiming for helis on battlefield. It's just so much better than having aim up/down on mouse while aiming left/right is on keyboard. Breaks my brain.

Hopefully they add the option to bind it to the mouse soon.

Every game needs a training map like Battlefield 4's. It's really important to be able to practice flying minus the pressure of being in a real match.

Biggest mistake in BF, players aren't given chance to practice to fly those aircrafts (helicopters, jets, etc) AT ALL.
i find the usual control is okay, rifle control is weird and inconsistent to any other game control.

I think what you're noticing is the recoil. This game indeed have an exagerated recoil in many guns, you have to find the right ones.

dude you just dont understand what im talking about lmaooooo.

"rifle control" is heli keybind where mouse control replicate infantry aiming.

yeah game definitely needs rifle aim for helis

My issue with that heli is more that it flys like a giant mountain, its super clunky and absolutly non agile.

Battlefield 2 has had the perfect vehicle controls and velocity back in the day, i havent seen good flight controls ever since.

It amazes me how that game (and BF Vietnam before it) absolutely nailed helicopter controls/handling, and yet nearly everything since then has eschewed those designs in favor of something objectively worse. Like seriously, how do you get helicopter controls so right back in the early-to-mid 2000s, and then continue to botch them even to this day? That just blows my mind.

Battlefield Vietnam had the best chopper controls I've ever used in a video game. The cheap logitech flight stick was all you needed and you could dominate the sky. If they got these choppers feeling like those did on a flight stick, I'd dust mine off and have it permanently set up on my desk like I did back in the day....

BIG TIME! Just awful. Top 1% pilot in BF titles and I use keyboard only. I hate flying with a mouse.

Devs please study BF helicopter controls...they might be a little to fast but at least let us remap however we want.

At least there's a good thing about this, thanks to this there aren't many who know how to use a helicopter.

Why is this a good thing? Because helicopters are overwhelming OP. The guided anti-air from both the Stinger and AA vehicles have too low of a height to target a helicopter, the cooldown of flares is too low too. So if they get shot once, they can just fly up, repair full and go down again.

Also, they can completely destroy any vehicle by just standing at top of them and the vehicle can't do anything about it, not even the AA. It's absurd.
