Have you finished ng+ already? I imagine the 8 bosses in line to be quite difficult.
Also you can always try to get some of those ridiculous achievments.
Destroying all checkpoints. Not getting hit. Hurry up! Greed. Starving. etc ...
I agree that the levels should have been remixed a bit to change up the pace. Obviously they don't need to be completely redone, but Megaman Powered Up had the right idea by making minor adjustments to the level layout (removing tiles here or there to change jumps, or adding extra environmental hazards) on harder difficulties just to throw the player off, on top of enemy layouts.
And yeah, double damage is almost completely irrelevant everywhere except for bosses, plus without anything to spend money on you have no reason to try your hand at the side rooms which were often the hardest parts of a level.
It almost feels like NG and NG+ should have been labelled Easy, Normal, (let players start on either) and then have NG+ be Hard with some actual level changes.
I'm inclined to agree. I'm going through NG+ atm and it does feel like it should be the normal difficulty straight up, with the "New Game" difficulty being somewhat of an easy mode that should work like training wheels (go through 4 knights then get a message saying "nice try but you should go normal mode if you want to proceed further" or something similar).
This is what people don't get when I complain about items that make the game vastly a cakewalk like health chalice. The game is naturally easy because these items exist, whether I choose to use them or not. I'll say it again: The game is EASY and I cannot tell to someone "the game is easy as a cakewalk unless you decide not to use OP items" without laughing.
Mega Man E tanks compensate for the "Nintendo hard" difficulty (finite lives, bosses that are by default nail-biting unless you know their weakness) and weren't available until later in the game, Dark Souls allows you to retrieve your souls but the distance between bonfires was unforgiving and made you think twice before risking to advance.
Don't get me wrong; I bloody love the game and I'm on my way to 100% every achievement. Just because there are challenges that you can optionally put yourself through doesn't mean that it makes the inherent difficulty harder. The game is inherently easy because it melds concepts from the mentioned games out of their context, without their downsides.
That would suck so much.
"Yo, don't buy/play our game if you aren't good enough!"
Any idea what that involves? I'd love a mode that makes ichors less powerful or something.
They will basically be sets of challenge rooms. They will be really hard, and some will have their own rule sets, like killing all enemies, not killing any enemies or having a time limit.
They will add even more stuff? wow, thats awesome but what I wanna know is, does the ending change or is there some new stuff in new game+ or is it just a difficulty ramp up?
And i really want the Enchantress story ! :(
I just beat ng+ the 8 bosses was the hardest part of the game
OR you can try to get better. 3 hours ago I couldn't kill all 8 bosses in a row on new game+ but I learned.
Mind-blowing, I know. You should try it sometime. Or not. Couldn't care less.
