Yeah not fun.
King of Cards is not really all that fun not gonna lie. The subweapons suck once again (the only exception to this was Specter) which is a let down considering its a megaman kinda game. The movement still feels off and the knock back is still the one Simon has instead of the one megaman has.

Also King Knight is just boring to play as. His dash is stiff.

Hey at least it was a free update so I can't really complain. Oh also the card game was fun at first but after a while it became a bore as well.

It feels more like Wario than Mega Man, I'd say.

King Knight's playstyle was based around Wario rather than Megaman, I think what you meant to say that the original Shovel Knight was a blend between past games including Megaman?

I found King Knight's campaign to be really fun platforming wise but boss fights were a bit on the downside in comparison to Shovel Knight because it's quit easy to attack a boss and receive splash damage on the side.

The Joustus game, I would say isn't forgiving to newer players, really should not had made it until later on that you start losing cards upon losses, just frustrating as a learning curve. After I got cascade cards, Joustus became a lot of fun after that.

All and all, I think King is good - not Plague or Specter good but good.

Shovel Knight in general is a megaman game, the devs are even a big fan of megaman. Specter is literally Zero with a little gimmick and Shovel, Black and Shield are literally Mega, Proto and Bass.

I'd say King Knight is the most fun of them all: Stages are usually shorter (or so they felt for me), the bosses made me mind my health more because there's not half heart (SPECIALLY the final boss), and the card game is neither required nor forces you to play fair.

Shovel Knight would be second most fun, specially given his arsenal and flexibility. Specter Knight is third because he is quite difficult at the start, then once you get more Will and Darkness it becomes the easiest one. Plague Knight however is the absolute worst in all aspects: slippery movement, and the reward for collection HUNDREDS of Cypher Coins is... Literally the worst item of all modes.

Ew, shovel is by far the worst for me. His momentum, knock back, useless weapons all suck. Except his boss fights, those are really fun.

If I had to rank them, I'd put Specter first, then King, then shovel, then plague.

The first three are top tier and tons of fun (yes, even king knights card game), but I absolutely hated plague. Plague knight's controls were very floaty and using the bombs was annoying for me. I got through it, but it mostly felt like button mashing half the time. Also didn't like basically going through the same stages with little side paths. Got old pretty quick.

So many haters in steam discussion, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

If anyone at yacht Games Club sees this, you did an excellent job with this and have every right to be proud of it. It's the best campain with specter of torment, the dash and spin system is really fun and you can see how much love you put into making all of this.

I gotta add one more flaw, the level design is very dickish at times. It's like, in megaman 9,10 and 11 or games like Zero 3 or BMZ2 etc etc.... if you die its your fault. But in this game I have counted many times where I died because of some stupidly placed enemy. This game is really cheap. Not gonna lie with the exception of Specter of Torment which was fantastic, shovel knight in general is just meh.

This isn't Mega man though.

I'm having fun however I notice King Knight's level design seems to be a lot more "puzzle" style meaning there is usually only one specific way to get through any given area. Spectre had some of that going on as well with needing to do his lock on slash on various objects to move over pits. But with King it often feels like this is a constant thing of either bash the right object/enemy or not be able to progress. This sub items don't give mobility from what I have seen so far so this seems to stay true.

There's a few that really open up your mobility.
The Frog bubble lets you dash again after you use it; against a wall that isn't slick you can repeatedly dash to gain vertical distance.
The spin boots, whatever they're called may be a pain to use, but they grant a huge amount of mobility... provided you have the magic power to burn.
The flaming sword is great for getting just a little extra height from a jump, especially if you're trying to reach a platform out of your normal vertical gain. I used it to get most of the end-game medals.

Really? I think the level design is brilliant and everything just makes sense. The levels are filled with "tips" in form of enemies or gem placements that help you choose the optimal strategy in most situations: I guess you can run into some unfair moments if you ignore all that. Maybe I just got lucky.

There are some spots with enemy placements that I don't really get: Enemies behind waterfalls or some dark areas that I can't seem to spot (and the pitch-black boss fights).

I on the other hand think that I Plauge Knight has the best. The silly crap you can do with appropriate Arcana-Bomb-Burst combos is just silly. Like for example with proper setup you can fly and carpet bomb the crap out of Properol Knight from the range he cant hit you. And you can stay there through out the fight throwing bombs at him :D

I'm glad I am not alone, I was wondering if I remembered the other DLC and main game differently but this just wasn't fun for me, a lot of my death were just because they had a new element like the spin holes that if you used them you went right into lava, or the non-jump dirt yu forget about them once and you are dead and it felt more like homework to collect the merits, I got to the second level of the second map with the instant death spin holes and I am really thinking of calling it quits. Just my opinion, it just felt that the levels were built more for trial and error till you get it right than skill.
