I found King Knight's campaign to be really fun platforming wise but boss fights were a bit on the downside in comparison to Shovel Knight because it's quit easy to attack a boss and receive splash damage on the side.
The Joustus game, I would say isn't forgiving to newer players, really should not had made it until later on that you start losing cards upon losses, just frustrating as a learning curve. After I got cascade cards, Joustus became a lot of fun after that.
All and all, I think King is good - not Plague or Specter good but good.
Shovel Knight in general is a megaman game, the devs are even a big fan of megaman. Specter is literally Zero with a little gimmick and Shovel, Black and Shield are literally Mega, Proto and Bass.
Shovel Knight would be second most fun, specially given his arsenal and flexibility. Specter Knight is third because he is quite difficult at the start, then once you get more Will and Darkness it becomes the easiest one. Plague Knight however is the absolute worst in all aspects: slippery movement, and the reward for collection HUNDREDS of Cypher Coins is... Literally the worst item of all modes.
Ew, shovel is by far the worst for me. His momentum, knock back, useless weapons all suck. Except his boss fights, those are really fun.
The first three are top tier and tons of fun (yes, even king knights card game), but I absolutely hated plague. Plague knight's controls were very floaty and using the bombs was annoying for me. I got through it, but it mostly felt like button mashing half the time. Also didn't like basically going through the same stages with little side paths. Got old pretty quick.
If anyone at yacht Games Club sees this, you did an excellent job with this and have every right to be proud of it. It's the best campain with specter of torment, the dash and spin system is really fun and you can see how much love you put into making all of this.
The Frog bubble lets you dash again after you use it; against a wall that isn't slick you can repeatedly dash to gain vertical distance.
The spin boots, whatever they're called may be a pain to use, but they grant a huge amount of mobility... provided you have the magic power to burn.
The flaming sword is great for getting just a little extra height from a jump, especially if you're trying to reach a platform out of your normal vertical gain. I used it to get most of the end-game medals.
There are some spots with enemy placements that I don't really get: Enemies behind waterfalls or some dark areas that I can't seem to spot (and the pitch-black boss fights).
I on the other hand think that I Plauge Knight has the best. The silly crap you can do with appropriate Arcana-Bomb-Burst combos is just silly. Like for example with proper setup you can fly and carpet bomb the crap out of Properol Knight from the range he cant hit you. And you can stay there through out the fight throwing bombs at him :D
