Don't get me wrong, they've obviously been working on explorer mode, which is great, and i'll being playing it. But to release new content, demonstrating they're clearly still working on the game - and not include this long requested - long awaited support for key rebinding. Kinda sends the message that they just had no intention of ever doing what they promised in regards to key rebinding.
Saddest part is that the initial "day one" was such along time ago, after which any publicized development went dark for quite a while. Then they eventually came back, only to find that upon release they were asked by alot of the player base to "go back to the drawing board" again lol.
So you can look it two ways, either they've been through development hell just to get to this point - or - you could argue that they have had more than enough opportunity to get the little things done by now, even if they had difficulty with the bigger things.
That said, the fact they they listened to player feedback and came back with explorer mode, is a testament to them. I know huge amount of the player base will appreciate this - I certainly do.
1 year and a pandemic later. Still unable to remap the key binds. As a lefty (remapping key binds to left side of keyboard or numb pad in all my games), this game is unplayable.
Thought it might be rebinding support.. but alas not :(
Some devs are just like that. Controls schemes can sometimes be part of their "artistic vision", and consistently they tend to pay little mind to key-remapping support requests. Artistic vision trumps ergonomics and accessibility in that instance I suppose. Pretty odd mindset thought if you ask me.
