Stuck at Level 12 door.

I fell down into a large body of water and there is nowhere to go. I think I may need to use the lantern to open the thin doorway but the problem is I have 0 diamonds so my lantern won't shine. Do I just need to let my guy starve to death?

yeah let him starve, make a run trough 1-3 with torches, get some crystals, bandages and stews, you will need them after you go take your lantern back and continue. i will also recommend buying the dark helm from the shop keeper before you go back for it.

Damn, that sucks...there were very few places to fill the lantern in the floors before that and I actually had lots of food and supplies as I had replayed through from floor 1 with this guy.

i guessed that you were able to survive from the begging with the same character because you actually suppose to die at some point in order to do a re-run, getting the lantern back and collecting more crystals on the way is an important part of the game which you probably will have to do a few more times.. but its pretty impressive that you managed not to die even once up until this point so gj on that haha. getting the lantern back is a big part of the game and now that you will have to face the levels without it it will feel kinda different and special so don't stress about it.

btw just from interest, did you use guides and stuff before your first run? or you just actually managed to not die for so long on your own?

No, I had already died a few times before this life. What I meant was that when I got a new life I didn't use the shortcuts and decided to just play through the floors in order to get supplies and see if I missed anything. Then I made it to that door which was the furthest I have been and found that I couldn't progress.
