Can you disable the depth of field?
I don't have the game yet so I'm asking here. Can you disable it? I hate anything that blurs the screen

No, not completely, it is always there in some form. I don't like it either, (usually the first thing I turn off in games, along with motion blur and chromatic aberration) but you just have to get used to it in this game unfortunately.

On the flip side, the game is great fun! Feels like some sort of lucid, hazy fever dream. It gives me an uneasy feeling and I love it :)

Guess I'll just wait for a mod or something. Not gonna buy the game unless you can disable it

With the new explore mode that just released, is now possible to disable it?

Well, no... but it's tilt-shift photography, man! Not your ordinary Depth of Field.

The decision to spend time on the effect itself was a very conscious decision by the lead creative director early on in BELOW's development. I can understand why people don't like it, but it really feeds into the visuals and sense of faraway things being difficult for the Wanderer to perceive. Based on their engine, I don't even know if it would be something easy for them to put a flip-switch on.

To each their own, though. I respect your critique.

I'm with the same boat as you, but personally I can deal with it, not that big of a deal.

You could also try using reshade or Nvidia Freestyle to sharpen the image to reduce the DOF applied to some extent. It's not perfect and it won't remove it entirely, but the game does look better if you sharpen the image. I tried it myself.

Yes, you can actually do that, but not via in-game settings. Go to the game's local files, find
...Dream\UDKGame\Config and open UDKSystemSetting.ini file. Open in in notepad and fine setting for the DOF and change in to "false".
ENJOY!
You may also find a number of other useful settings inside the Config folder.

Doesn't work, if you set it to "OFF" or "false" or anything else, the game simply won't launch
